Slide-out stability.

We have a be HM331RL with opposing slides that are cable operated. We are permanently parked for about two years and notice the camper us s little wobbly. We were able to use slide screw jacks and they worked great., but those slides were hydraulic driven in and out and also had frame rails to put the jacks under. This coach is not set up that way. Any suggestions on making our living quarters less rocky?

Thanks,

John

Use blocks to shorten the length of travel by your levelers

jeffba,

Thanks. Did that with our Cougar. I believe you didn’t Quite understand what I was asking. Our Cougar has actual structural members to put the jacks under and tighten them. This Montana is sealed beneath the slides and there is NO visible structural member to which I can physically see to install the jack underneath.

You are wanting to put jacks under your slides?

You will find other threads on this and a good deal of disagreement. I'm on the side that believes that using slide jacks can permenently damage the slides particularly when left for long periods. Others will disagree.

Well I have experienced a jack sinking in the ground due to a water leak. So I would never use a jack under a slide. As Dick said, there are folks out there that do use them.

They are not for me and I would not recommend anyone to use them.

I would never recommend any kind of stabilizers directly under a slide out. Maybe something under the main frame near the slide outs?
