OMG we just went from $2.50 to $2.69...We are really feeling the rise of this. I think at this rate we will be lucky to go 20 miles down the road with the Monty!

I just hope it will go down and soon!!!

Went out this morning gas (BP) was 253.9 came back 3 hours later it was 2.69.9 and just now on the way back from the School bus garage it was 273.9 same station, same day.Diesel went over the 3.00 mark.

Last Thursday Diesel was 2.25 in Gainesville, Texas. Saturday it was 2.35 so I guess we're not as bad as others.
This morning it was still at 2.35 so maybe it is holding.
In Sherman, Texas Diesel was 2.49 on Saturday.

I had to put gas in the F-150 I drive to work this afternoon and paid 2.539 for it. I hate to see what diesel will be by Labor Day when we next go out in the Montana...

We just drove through West Yellowstone, Montana and just about went into cardiac arrest when we saw the price for diesel ... $2.849!!!!!!!!!

We just paid $2.459 here in Sioux Falls. It will probably go up now, but I guess when you are having fun you pay a price!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looks like the retailers are really taking advantage of the pricing of fuel at pump. It takes about a week or 10 days for a barrel of domestic oil pumped from a well to get to a refinery and be converted into a gallon of gasoline or diesel, sent to a distributor, usually via pipeline, trucked to a station, and then pumped into your tank. If the crude oil comes from the Middle East or South America the time frame could be as much as a month. How are the retailers able to hike the price of gasoline or diesel the same day that crude goes up? I am also seeing price increases on the weekend when the markets and business offices are closed. What has happened to the trickle down effect of supply and demand?

Picking up where I left off yesterday when I put $20 worth of regular unleaded in the F-150. I drove by the same store on the way home this afternoon and regular was 2.729--that is a 19 cent hike in less than 24 hours!

And you know that it does not go down as fast as it rises! We hit $3.09 for diesel in Ashland, Oregon today, though the Medford stations are still in the $2.93 to $2.99 range. I think there should be a penalty for those making huge profits at our expense, especially when the price at the pump is rising faster than it should.

Its already having an effect on the economy. Today's numbers by the government on the CPI shows inflation is rearing it's ugly head more than was predicted. The markets also reacted accordingly. Major stores such as Target, Wal-mart and others reported less money running through the registers. A major recession is on the way if oil prices continue to rise as they have in the past few months.

The good news is the price of oil was down $2.83 today, but did anyone notice a 4.28% reduction in pump prices??????

Wow, I don't feel so bad paying $2.60 here in Iowa then. It still has increased 30 cents in the past week and a half. But still not as high as some of you are seeing.

Charlie, just how long do you think it will take for that 4.28 percent reduction to occur at the pumps!

I would wager that it will be longer than it took for prices to soar this week...

Diesel jumped from 2.25 to 2.49 yesterday in Gainesville, Texas. I was hoping it would stay down since Oil prices have dropped. Maybe after Labor Day it will go down some.
It never goes down as much as it goes up though.

I wonder how much tow vehicles have gone up in the last few years. I was reading an interesting article that stated during the oil crisis in the '70's that crude was at $90/bbl in today dollars. I don't complain on fuel prices when bottled water is $2.00 in a vending machine. Comparing that to gas or diesel, it would be $16.00 a gal. From what I hear, oil consumption is approaching or nearly exceeding the amount of new supplies being found. When consumption is larger than the rate of finding new supplies two things will happen. Prices will go up and eventually, oil will be gone unless major conservation comes into play.

What are the current prices of corn futures??? Ethenol anyone??? Also heard something on TV about cooking oil??? Claiming we could be free of any dependence on foreign oil in like 3 years?? Maybe I was dreaming??
