Just purchased a 2011 Montana Hickory 3400RL . looking for a user's group to
get information about my new unit. Have owned 5th wheels before just upgraded.
Looking to spend the next 9 months or so in the unit traveling just recently retired and
sold the house. The wife and I are looking forward to seeing some areas we have never
had time to see before. Any info. for first timers spending an extended time in this unit
would be appreciated. Have been vacation campers to this point looking to learn how to spend months on the road.

Welcome to the best Montana forum around! There are a lot of folks here who will give you their opinion. I live in my Montana and just take it one day at a time. I hope we get to meet somewhere down the road. Travel safe!

Welcome to the forum. We're currently working at the Imperial National Wildlife Refuge north of Yuma. If you get out this way stop by.
Over the years as full timers we've found we need much less than we thought when we started, particularly when it comes to clothing.

Welcome to the forum. We are not full timers (yet) but spent 6 weeks at Dauphin Island last year and leave Dec.2 for 3 months in AZ this time. Planning to empty the house when we return and sell it. There is a section for full timers and long timers on the forum with lots of questions and answers you would probably find useful. Ask questions, lots of knowledge and great folks who will respond. Stay active here, you will not regret it.

When we lived in ours full time we found out like Dick above that you don't need as much stuff as you think you do.

Welcome! Come to a rally, and get to know some folks. Plenty of knowledge and help here. MOCers everywhere you go.

This is a good place to get to know folks with similar interests, and learn about your Montana. We have saved much and spent much based on information learned from MOC members. Hope you enjoy many adventures and safe travels.

I want to second Hook's idea of getting any of the rallies! You meet some very fun cool fellow MOCers. Once you've to a couple you'll start seeing them along the roads and meeting for lunches and dinners. Welcome to the form.

Like everyone else says, come to a Montana rally. When we did, we made a ton of new friends all eager to share and teach what they know. This is the greatest group of people I've ever been associated with. This group and forum has enriched our full time experience. If you're in the southwest in January, consider joining the Montana rally in Quartzsite, AZ.
