An Update on our China Bombs and Goodyear
We had our left rear Monty damage repaired from our CB tire blow-out. State Farm was super to work with and as it has turned out, Goodyear covered our deductible and cost of a replacement tire (Michelin LT).
Even though I have mixed feelings about the tire, Goodyear did all that they promised.
That doesn't seem to happen often anymore.

Goodyear has been excellent, with most people, about fixing damage and replacing the tire. It would be nice if they built the tire to handle the weight it says on the sidewall in the first place, however.

It is great that Goodyear will step up to the plate when one of their tires go pop and tears up your trailer.....but why do we have to get a torn up trailer to get good service from them???

Goodyear should have paid for everything and your insurance company should go after Goodyear for reinbursment. We had the same thing happen to us after the third blowout and Goodyear fearing a lawsuit paid for all repairs and pro-rated our marathons and switched all 5 tires out for g614's.

Did you have to buy new rims for the G614s?

I've got to agree! Goodyear, I'm sure, got away easy by only paying the deductible.

Kudo's to Goodyear, most tire companies would never do that, At what point does Keystone or other SOB's take responsibility for putting E tires on HEAVIER rigs??? I know G614's are expensive but there are other G Tire's(Geostar G574) for example that will do the job for less money than G614's that 5th wheel mfg's could buy for a reasonable price with the buying power they have, but I will give credit to Keystone for at least putting Goodyears on, My buddies Grand Designs 5th has cheap tires I NEVER even heard of that I doubt would ever cover any Damage

The thing I don't understand is why Keystone or any body else would put 65 MPH rated tires on a unit knowing very well they are going to be pulled on 75 MPH interstates. That's like the piano player at a brothel saying he doesn't know what is going on upstairs.

I did my homework to make sure the g's were going to match up with the rims. I actually got my education from this forum about the g's and the rims. After 3 blowouts and $2500 in damage, we feel comfortable driving down the road and not wondering when the next bomb will blow and maybe lose our lives. Just look what happened to the bus in Tenn. recently when a tire blows! That could happen to a fifth wheel trailer if both tires blew on the same side.
