I have a 2007.5 with the 6.7 and I get around 11.5-12 when towing. I might have a little more pulling power but can not say that for sure as I never had the 5.9 in a truck. It takes a lot to stop these beasts and I know I sure like the exhaust brakes on the newer trucks when heading down a grade.. I am sure you will get many miles out of that combo.
