Valley of the Gods

I have seen a Youtuber with a smaller Cougar 5th wheel camping in the Valley of the Gods. Looks like a out of this world place to boondock. My question is has anyone navigated VotG 17 mile loop road with their Monty? I am not thinking of navigating the entire loop but rather picking an entrance and attempting to get to some of the breath taking dispersed camping sites. I am thinking (hoping) that it might be possible to get 4 to 6 miles in from either entrance.

I’ve been there a few times but only pulled a utility thru. THe north entrance has a place you could park your fiver. Not to far in there was a dry creek bed. It was pretty rough. The south entrance had a place you could probably stay also was a care takers casa there. It’s been a while so my memory is short. You may be able to unhook and drive in to scout it out before going all the way in. I think there is one or two campgrounds in Mexican Hat.

I have taken that road in my Jeep. It would be nice to dry camp there BUT the road is fairly Rough and with the potential flash flood in that area, several parts of that road become the stream and areas where the flood would cross the road. There are 2 campgrounds in Bluff, Ut. Nothing fancy but close to VOG, Goose necks State park. Be sure to drive the Moki Dugway, but NOT pulling your 5er.
Have Fun
