Rotating dining table

We toured the Keystone plant and saw the new dining tables that rotate to allow entry to the kitchen area when the slides are in. The tour guide said there was information on the MOC site to explain how to modify our table to rotate like the new ones. Does anyone know where that information is? We have a 3075RL.
We also found there is a fix if your Osyssey tuner/CD/DVD player is at full volume when first turned on. Contact Odyssey (574-848-2294) for a CD that resets the initial settings of the unit. The CD will be sent at no charge.

Thanks for any info.

Welcome to the MOC family.

We also had a 3075 and I put a hinge between the top and the pedestal so the top would swing down toward the kitchen. We had good access but the top was a little wobbly. I then tried a lazy susan or bar stool swivel and that was also wobbly. Finally I attached the top as it originally was and removed the screws that held the base to the floor. I would turn the table 90 degrees and we had enough room to get by and could still use the table when traveling. We never had the table or chairs move while traveling although we would strap the tabled and chairs together.

Thanks for the tip about rotating the entire table. I guess my concern was the table moving while we were on the road. If I do remove the screws that hold the table to the floor how difficult is it to find the original holes if I decide to screw it back down again?

You probably could not find the same holes again. Measure the distance from the pedestal to walls before removing the screws and if you want to install the screws again, you can get the pedestal about the same place. It is not critical to get the screws back in the same holes if you decide to attach it again.

That reply from a guy called nail"bender" but than again he did say "install the screws". Hard to bend a screw Just kiddin', I couldn't resist that opening.
nailbender is correct. I have moved the table numerous times over the years and not once did I concern myself with the old holes. In fact with a pedistal type I have replaced just 2 screws and the table never moved.

I recently converted my dinette so I can swivel it when on the road so it is easier to get by without putting out the slides.
It was really easy. The top is held on to the base with 6 screws. I purchased a 6 3/4 inch bar stool swivel from Lee Valley Tools here in Canada (see site below) it cost $12 and is very heavy duty. They are made in the USA so should be available at some hardware stores down there.
I bolted it on to the top of the table base with 4 x 2 inch 90 degree brackets, then turned the whole table upside down to screw the swivel onto the underside of the top.
I then screwed the table back down to the floor
As the table slides back and forth it is really easy to slide it to one end then swivel it and it misses the window and gives you about 12 inches clearance from the counter top.
I have also fashioned a lock to hold it in place.
Keystone could do this as a standard for about $20.
Here is the link for Lee Valley which shows you what kind of swivel I used.
I will try to get some pictures of the finished project and post them on this site.

We have a '05 297 RKS Mountaineer that we purchased used. The dinette wasn't permanantly when we bought it. After a few trips we realized we really didn't need four chairs for two people, so I removed two of them. I turn the table sideways for travel and easy access to the kitchen and when we stop I turn the table around.
The two chairs are strapped to the table and so far haven't moved at all when traveling.

I also used a swivel from Lee Valley Tools ( http://www.leevalley.com/home.aspx - an amazing place for tools). It works, but with our set up you do have to be careful that you slide the table all the way in before rotating or it could hit the window. I also put a screw in to hold it locked in place while traveling.
On edit:"B" is the swivel I used: http://www.leevalley.com/hardware/pa...,44013&p=44014

Thanks for all the feedback. I will be trying the modification suggested by 'markwick'. It looks like that should solve the problem. I'll let you know how it works out.

Happy and safe camping.

Just to let you folks know I did install the swivel on our kitchen table like Markwick recommended and it worked out great! It only took a couple of hours to modify the table. I was able to put the table back in the exact same spot by using the indents in the carpet and marking which table leg was pointing toward the wall. Sure does make life a lot easier getting to the back of the unit with the slides in.

Thanks again for all the input.

One thing you want to be careful of with the rotating table top is the day/night shades. I have found to ensure they are not "rubbed" that you need to put them up just above table top height, rotate the table top and then finish pulling the blinds down.

This is a great idea, I am going to try it on my 3075. The question I have is where do you put all 4 chairs when it is turned?

Mine are in the attic of the house, there are only two in my rig so I dont need 4 chairs just 2. I removed at least 100 plus pounds off the Monty doing that.
