What dish and what receiver? Single LNB, Round dish, etc.You will need a tripod. You will need to find out the Az , elevation and maybe skew depending on the dish. You will need to get the cable into the RV.We drilled through the side of the opposing slide into the space in the trear of the Tv then up to the Sat receiver. First need to know what type of dish you have... Is it round...does it have one LNB?

Look for my post "The TV Saga Continues" many great ideas from folks that were of help. Also you don't say how new your rig is. I found the wiring diagram for the antenna system on the newer rigs that someone posted and could email it to you if you wish. Email me at dqdick10432@yahoo.com if you'd like it. Once I found that I felt much better. If you have an older rig look near the end of that thread for some ideas for using the Tailgater.

As others have written, knowing what year 3400 you have makes a difference as the cabling system changed around Jan. 2010. A post with pictures of the two different wiring plans is at http://www.montanaowners.com/forums/...ad.php?t=37324

Depending on the antenna (dish) you have along with the type of receiver you are using, you may have challenges. To start, run the RG6 from the antenna to the receiver through the side of the slide (or a window). That will at least get you up and running until you can sort out the internal cabling system.

Let us know the year of the 3400 and more deatil on the antenna/receiver and I bet we can improve the installation.

If Round or Oval...its very easy. Use receiver and enter Zipcode to obtain AZ, Elev, & Tilt... Set dish to Elev & Tilt, plumb your mount as close to perfect as possible, using a point compass rotate dish to AZ. Takes me about 5 min...

After doing all the above, DTV menu will have a signal meter. Crank up the volume on the TV, open the window, and then adjust the dish until the beeping is at its fastest. You should be good.

And now, for something completely different, there is one way that has not been mentioned that takes all of the work out of the ordeal. Buy a Winegard Travler auto-seek satellite dish and either install it or have it installed on the top of your rig. Pull into your camping spot, press the power button twice, wait a couple of minutes during which you can hook up your receiver, and lo and behold, Directv service is available from the comfort of your chair. After getting this option installed by our dealer on the latest rig, I have not regretted it in the least. The HD we have in the rig is better than what we have in the house (LCD vs. Plasma).
