New type of MH/FIVER

For those of you who might be interested, there is a new type of RV currently in the development stage! It's the "SRV" which stands "Split Recreational Vehicle" because.... it's an RV that "splits in two".

These units will range in weight from 28,000 to 36,000 pounds (GVW) and will be 46' to 50 feet in overall length. The front section will provide cooking facilities, a 3pc bath, sitting/eating area, water tanks, entertainment features, and sleeping quarters for up to 4 people. The rear section will provide a master bedroom with 2 or 3 piece bath, a living room, bar fridge, guest chairs, computer desk, entertainment features, and sleeping quarters for up to 5 people. Both sections will provide refrigeration, heating, air conditioning, LP (propane) gas supply, and a separate 100-125 volt electrical system. In between each section will be the "WFC extension unit" a thin, insulated, hydraulically operated tunnel, which will act as a watertight walkway between each section. The rear section can easily be left behind at the campground, while the front section takes off for day trips. The front section construction is the same as a Class A motorhome, and the rear section construction is the same as a fifth wheel trailer. Prices will range from $150,000 to $325,000. Some future, more luxurious models will be in the range of $550,000 to $1,250,000. As mentioned, The SRV is currently in the development stage.... look for it to be available in the summer of 2006.

Oh, I think I'll take....FOUR! Seriously, we saw buses with the same flexibility in the middle as this creation years ago in Europe. They can't be too practical at that price.

Its interesting. But like the question goes, "WHERE DO YOU PARK IT?" Wondering what the gas milage will be and I really want to know who in their right mind would put that kind of money into that?

We have seen this in transit busses..Can't remember what city.

We have those buses in Denver, they are 60' long articulating buses. I actually drove one and passed my CDL in one back in the late 80's when I was unemployed and thought I was going to have to start a new career.

After seening and hearing about all the family's that have children in there 30's still living with them, It just might be the ticket!!!!!!I think I would have to charge them a little rent to stay in this one. ha ha

If you had the kind of money to buy one, you would hire all the maintaining done for you. Maybe that is what the second section is for - a maid and mechanic!

This is not an articulating bus. This is a fifth wheel. With the exception of the tunnel it hooks up and unhooks the same as any Fiver. In fact you could even use the front section as a TV for your Monty

Who would own one?? The same folks that would buy a $1.5mil Prevost and have a $60K Hummer for a toad. In fact they'll probably trade in their Prevost on this "SRV" and tow their Hummer behind it.

Awful long, hate to have to find a site long enough for it, specially if I wanted to leave hooked up. whew

So many campgrounds have not kept up with the 3 to 4 slides and 35 to 40 foot we are running here as Montanas. And, how many campgrounds have almost NO 50 AMP sites. Heavens, how many don't even have a lot of full hookupss?? Enough, believe me!

Wonder what happens to level, if you have say, a pull through, and it has a hump in the middle, or is uneven. UGHH, not sure I want to try to level both parts so they can stay hookuped up together and used as one unit with that tunnel thingy.

And, like Kathi asked: Anyone have a guess as to what kind of fuel mileage this monster would get??? 4 or 5????

Will give em this, sure is thinking OUT of the box!

Iffn ya got$ the buck$ to buy one ya probably got$ the buck$ for fuel too!! And ya got$ the money to hire a dozer to level any $ite.
