dometic refridge
Hi everyone. I'm a newbee and I have a question regarding my Dometic fridge. It maintains 44 degrees with ambient temp around 88. I'm in NC. Condenser fan is working, the coils are pretty warm so I'm guessing there is circulation. Defrosted freezer numerous times, fins inside fridge are clean no obstructions. Anyone know what might be causing the high temp. I am electrically knowledgeable so I checked the voltages. Any ideas? Thanks

If there is a sliding clip on one of the fins on the inside of the fridge (depends on year and model which is helpful to add to your signature), slide it up to make the fridge colder.

Four door? In a slide? 44 too warm. I, like others, installed a 4 inch ac fan in the lower outside vent, pushing the air up and out. Also put a battery operated fan in the fridge itself for circulation. Made a big difference. We have the four door, in a slide, run steady at 35-38. You could also check to make sure you have a clear unobstructed path for the heat path at the vents. Are all your top vent fans kicking on? 4 doors have four installed to push heat. If you do a search on the forum, lots of discussion on this topic. There is also an after market kit you can install to aid, again previously discussed on the forum.

Don't know the age of your unit, but they have a two year warranty. Something to check is the flap on the left door. make sure it's sealing the area between the doors.
Dometic replaced our cooling unit and paid for 3.5 hrs. labor, but the Dometic Tech made two trips to our Campground in Fort Pierce and it cost me 600.00 dollar. I thought 300.00 would have been reasonable but I needed it fixed. Works perfect now.

I agree as per Mike's post above. Need better circulation out the outside top of fridge cavity and more fans to push the air up and out.

I agree with everyone's comment on air circulation. Also every time you open the door and close it you are pushing 75 degree air inside. These things just don't recover like a home refrigerator. Are you running on electric or gas? Just because the coils are warm doesn't mean they are getting hot enough. I had a weak electric element. I have the same model as you. It takes a 325 watt electric element. Test your element. Should read 40 to 45 ohms resistance. If running on gas make sure there are no restrictions in the orifice like a spider web. Just to add to what Bingo said make sure when you move the clip up that the thermistor inside the clip is moving up. I bought parts and have gotten a wealth of information from the contact, Dave, on this site:

Perhaps he can help you. Let us know what you find out. Jim

Thanks, I will measure the resistance asap. I did make a shute to direct all the air from the fan to concentrate right on the cooling coil. That brought the temp down to 40. I just want another 2 degrees cooler atleast
