Automatic awning question

We have 2015 3160 legacy pkg . I would like to tilt awning for more shade at some sites.
I see I can pull arms and tighten with the knob( have to have a ladder). That does not tilt very much, I am thinking maybe that is for rain and just lower the side by door? Can the awning be tilted further? Thanks

Not much tilt like we were used to with the manual awnings.

Do you tilt for rain or just retract fully?

Either side will tilt. Grab the flap on roller tube, pull down, grab arm and pull down more while walking back to tighten the knob. Carol, your choice whether to roll up or leave out in rain. When we are in florida I anchor my awning with racheting straps from each end of the roller tube. Other end of straps go to pad eyes that I installed in concrete pad. Awning stays out for 6-7 months and only comes in for tornado warning for our area. John

Thank you for your reply. You said to grab the flap, pull down etc. I can't reach the flap unless I stand on a ladder. That's the problem. Awning goes almost straight out, I can't attach a shade screen or anything as I need a ladder to reach the awning.

I normally go for the arm on one side or the other, although I still need a stool to stand on. Easier to get to than the flap. Pull down on the arm, get your tilt and tighten up.

Sounds like yours doesn't unroll out as far as my dometic. I have seen some "carport" awnings on class a's that come straight out with no drop, so you must be in that league...bummer. You probably didn't get a slide in strap with your rig like I did with mine...which would ease your job. John
