Replacing Drawer Slides in Bedroom

OK--Why would I need to replace them? Bonehead me--The slide out caught a drawer and before I stopped it--it pushed the drawer to the side and messed up the drawer guides. Looks like the 6 drawer dresser in our rig will not allow the drawers to be removed. So--how is the dresser mounted--I will explore--But does anyone have any experience with removing the dresser for a few hours?

Tim,
There is probably small black (lever) latches on the outside of the slides a few inches back from the front. One side will release in the opposite direction from the other side. These little releases will release the slides to remove the drawer.
I am assuming your drawers are like the others I have run across. Apologies if you have already checked for theses releases.

As Joe said, the drawers will come out, just not easily. It is not obvious which little black latch lever goes up and which one goes down to release the drawer. You just have to work with it until it finally slides out.

Yes, I know about the little black levers--but the chest of drawers is to close to get the other drawer completely out. That is not a problem when using the drawer but it is when you try to remove it. I will keep looking for the little trick to get this out--or the big trick to remove the chest of drawers that interfere.

Ohhh! That's not good.
If you can't see any screws around the outside edges of the cabinet along the wall, they may well be inside the cabinet. Which would likely mean they were put in with the drawers out during trailer assembly before there was any interference.
Hope that is not the case.
If you can get any of the drawers out, look inside to see if you can see any screws that may go thru the back of the cabinet and into the wall.

If you have roller bearing glides if you look you should be able to slide the drawer out, and then flip the black levers to free them from the slide. Then take and slide the middle section of the slide in with your finger. This should allow you remove the drawer without having to slide them all the way out the end. I hope this is not to confusing.... It might work in your case..

Very good point, Larry. I had forgotten you could do that.

Having replaced the dresser in my Montana, I can assure you the drawers have to come out first. There are lots of screws along the side and top of the dresser holding it to the wall. The drawers should come out using Drifty1's technique.
