shower head slides down support tube
I have a 2011 3150 that the factory shower head/handle slides down the support tube while in use. Has anyone had this problem and how did you fix it?

Ours did the same thing. Used a small cable tie around the tube below the shower head holder, pulled it tight and cut off the tail. Has been in place for over two years and the head stays put. If needed, we can still slide the head bracket up or down by sliding the cable tie on the tube

Tie a rubber band around the tube below the shower head would also work but I like the wire/cable tie idea better!

Thanks for that idea, the great thing about this forum is many inventive minds looking at similar problems.

If mine wasn't working, I would take it apart to find out how the release button frees up the assembly to travel up/down. Not going to jinx myself by opening it up at this point. John

I put a shutoff/control valve inline below the head. Not only does it not slip down but it's great for dry camping and pressure control. This isn't the exact one but looks just like it.

We wrap the hose around the tube about 3 times to lessen up the downward pull on the shower head, works for us...

In our 2011 there is a knob on the side of the hanger to tighten it.

I had the same issue. I did a goggle search and found the manufacturer name who manufactured the shower assembly. It was made by DURA. I contacted them and they sent me a new sliding head no charge. When I took the old one apart, I found that it's a very simple mechanism. There are two rubber pads that rub against the poll. I took them out and put a stainless steel shim behind them. I used SS only because that's what I had on hand. You could use just a thin piece of hard plastic to do the same thing. I put it back on and it worked great. I now have a spare.
This is what I have: http://www.amazon.com/Dura-Faucet-DF...shower+faucets
This is what I have and the telephone number to contact the manufacturer in within the link. All you'll need to tell them is the color: http://www.durafaucet.com/rv-shower-slide-bar/

Someone on the forum had the suggestion just to scrub the vertical tube with a Teflon pot scrubber to get the soap film off. I tried that and the shower head no longer slipped down. Every season when it begins to slide down, I just rescrub the tube and it works again for another year.

I do not know if this solution still works, but it used to be that you could disassemble the sliding head and flip the rubber washers that are located inside over. This used to restore the grip to the head by changing the direction of the friction of the rubber washers.

The internal spring is broke or loose I looked at mine and you have to remove the upper or lower cap to slide it off. then see if you can repair it.
