High temps limit switch open

Li oP fault on the Norcold Fridge'

The high temperature limit switch is open'
MOC member here Jerry Robinson saw that fault yesterday. We did a search on the forum and saw several possible fixes on of the apply a magnet to reset the Module on the CKT board which IS the fix but here is the EXACT fix.

Note that the red light on the Fridge CKT board will be lit indicating the failure. You must position a magnet over the module for, According to Nor Cold, at least one miniute for the reset to occur. He did that this AM and in about 20 seconds heard a click and the module was reset and the fridge was normal.

That procedure is what any service tech would do to correct the issue and it is a valid fix.

So I now add a bar magnet to by bag of spare parts for How to fix a broken Montana.

Nor cold will NOT replace the Board if you reset it and they will not replace it if a service tech or you replace it. The board would have to be a hard failure before it can be replaced.

Norcold said the board/Module is "moisture sensitive" and Jerry had been washing the Montana the days before the failure.

Thanks for the info. Since I'll also be adding one to the tool box, what size magnet do I need?

Jerry had a bar magnet in his tool box. It was @ one inch by one inch.
