Zerk Missing on Suspension Wet Bolt
I have been reading about upgrades to wet bolts on the suspension systems of trailers so I went out to look at mine and discovered that one of the zerks is gone. I will be getting a zerk to replace it but I have never had to buy a zerk before. Is there a standard size or is it dependent on the application? I believe I have the MOR/ryde SRE/4000 with wet bolts. Thanks for any help in advance.

I only went to Q and back with this out at some point. I am sure it didn't get road grim and water in it.

There are two different size threads. It would probably be worth taking one off another wet bolt to get the correct thread. You might consider 45 deg angled replacements some like them better.
Good luck.

H. John Kohl is correct. Size matters. Take another off and take it to the auto parts store for fit and comparison.
When I first got mine, I had just driven off from the dealer a few miles, then something told me to look under and see what I had just purchased. As I was admiring the new hardware I just happened to reach up and check the zerk and it came off in my hand! I checked all the others and found another that was loose, but still there and all the others were fine. I guess I just got lucky.
Besides finding that, there were many other reasons I have never been back to that dealer. I've learned to fix pretty much everything myself.

Some are only pressed into place while others are threaded. Take another one off like John recommended, to be sure. I use to snowmobile and it was common to have zerks come off.

It is 1/8". Now I have to decide if I want straight, 45 degree or 90 degree. I am probably going with the 45 degree but will need it to warm up a little bit before I start on this project.

Great point... mine all stick straight out and I really should change the angle on a few of them. Otherwise I'm breaking out the jack to gain access.
Bobcat - In your sig, where were you when you took that rig picture?

On of my Wet Bolt Zerks came off in my Grease Gun Nozzle. Bolt Threads appeared stripped. I contacted Dexter and they sent me a new bolt. Haven't replaced it yet...

A bolt that requires greasing periodically. At one time it was a modification to the rigs that a lot of members did since there were wear issues with regards to the suspension system. I believe all of the newer models come equipped with them. As a suggestion, go into your profile settings (see top right-hand menu on your forum pages) and you can make an "automatic" signature that will appear with your posts. You can add important information that will assist with your questions such as year and model of your rig.

Hey Art...Bobcats wife here! The picture was taken at the Quartzsite Rally in January 2013! We were part of the Circling of the Montanas! It was a lot of fun! He just got back from a business trip so I don't think he has had a chance to label his signature. Good point Bingo!
Thanks for helping him with this! I am just glad he noticed it before we get on the road to Yellowstone!
