Welcome to the forum from Chattanooga. I think you will like your new unit, we love ours. As others have said, don't be afraid to ask. I've asked several dumb questions on here and they haven't kicked my off yet. Also, don't be afraid to ask neighboring campers, most are more than willing to share their knowledge.

Welcome to the forum.
Congratulations on your retirement.
This forum has a ton of knowledge; ask away.
Solar with a small generator for when the sun doesn't replenish the batteries is a great way to go. I wouldn't depend on the prewired solar.
Suggest you build your solar system such that it can be upgraded in the future.

Since boondocking is on the agenda consider the Olympian Wave series heaters. They make no noise and use no electricity. They are way more efficient on propane than the trailer heater. Besides, they make a consistent heat which produces even temperature within the coach.
