Insulated TV Cabinet

I recently noticed that when we are watching TV our AC doesn't seem to work as well keeping us comfortable. I then realized the TV is affecting the Thermostat. Our Floor plan has a TV compartment and on the other side of the compartment wall is where the Thermostat is mounted. I felt this wall and discovered it was nice and warm.
Now for the fix. (haven't done it yet) Insulate the one wall inside the TV compartment with Styrofoam. I'll never be able to see the insulation as it will be out of sight.
I think some of the other TT's and some of the 5ers floorplans have the same compartments. Don't know if the Thermostats are located like mine but thought I should pass this along.
Any thoughts?

interesting problem. ours is in the kitchen, behind the sink...so no problem. hopefully the insulation will help some, but it may still be warm. sounds like a poor design! it's funny how they can make a floor plan so nice and miss something so simple!

Is the a/c too cold? If the TV heat was affecting the t-stat it would be calling for more cooling than was needed. I could see it being more of an issue for the heat shuting off too early.

Yep, Too cool in rear lounge, runs too long on it's cycles. So we set Therm. higher and the lounge gets too warm before it turns on again.
