Kitchen sink appears to have cracked
Has anyone else had problems with the kitchen sink cracking? It appears that what I originally thought was a scratch is now a crack. Can't imagine what caused it as I always run cold water in the sink when I am pouring water that I've cooked pasta, etc. in to prevent cracking. At any rate, it about covers 2/3 of the smaller sink bottom. Any suggestions/comments.
By the way, we love this site and have learned about a lot of neat stuff you all are doing.

What model and year rig do you have, it is helpful to add it to your signature line for reference purposes. Cracks have been noted on the forum and if the sink is part of the counter top the entire unit has been replaced under warranty.

I have the 07 and I am just waiting for one of those little cracks. This fiberglass stuff can't take the hot and cold extremes an RV experiences throughout the year.

Ours were replaced under warranty for hairline cracks spreading out from the drain like a spider web. So far so good on the new one. The wife thinks it may have been boiling water. Could be, but it did not look like stress. Just a nice thought but bad design.

The sink in our 2007 3585SA cracked the first month we had it, and I'd never even used it except to wash 2 forks per meal (nothing but Lean Cuisine frozen dinners there for a bit!). No boiling water ever touched that sink--not even very hot water hit it. As I write, that sink is one of the warranty items being replaced at the dealership.
I wondered, when I discovered a crack near the top edge of the sink, if the cover on the sink had bounced on the sink rim as we traveled. However, at that point, we'd had the rig only on smooth, paved roads. The sink covers should have ridden just fine under those circumstances. The other cracks that appeared were in random areas that had nothing touching them, and none of the cracks are anywhere near the sink drain.

We just had the counter replaced because of a crack on the counter from the sink edge to about the middle of the counter, noticed it two weeks after we got the rig. It was done under warranty.. Dave

Well, those of you who got their sink replaced under warranty did good. However, I have found that if your rig is only a couple of months past the one year warranty forget it. Keystone will sell you a repair kit for $26. The repair kit is just a small bottle of fiberglass resin. You have to purchase the catalyst some place else.

Follow-up to my August 20th post: Our countertop with the integrated sink was replaced by our dealer under warranty.

We have a small crack on the outer edge of the sink by the counter top. I think a small stainless sink with real faucets is in our future. It looks like a summer project for our local plumber.

WE had the same problem and had the entire unit replaced. Because sink and counters are one piece. Dealer did a great job and was covered by warrenty.
