Partition in basement storage
Today I am installing a partition in the front basement storage compartment to prevent anything stored there from sliding over into the batteries, electrical or hydraulic lines and controls. Have only had my new 3580RL Big Sky two weeks and trying to get things ready for the road and store things where I will be able to find them.

Frank,
That's an idea worth considering. If I were to do it, I'd leave a 1 inch gap at the top for ventilation. Thanks for the idea!

That really is the fun part...and sharing those ideas with others. Post some pics when your done. I just bought the same model as you did and am expecting it to be delivered this week. I am itching to make some mods. Have fun...

Maximo,
I don't have to worry about stuff in my front basement moving around. Got to much stuff. It is jammed in pretty tight. But if I were going to do something I'd put those adjustable bars in the basement. That way you can fix to fit any arrangement you end up with. Just a thought. Later, Dennis

I have been trying to figure out how to divide this area in my 3100RL for saftey sake. I would appreciate seeing some pictures of someone that has accomplished this. Thanks

Our battery is clear over to the side and has a cover and is in a battery box. Like Dennis, we have lots in that locker and even have things stacked on top of the battery cover. Are they now putting the battery in the middle of the locker?

I have two 12 volt deep cycle batteries, they are just to the left of center of the storage area. I used a 1 inch thick piece of plywood 2 feet square and cut the front botton of the board to fit the storage area. I used 3 inch angle brackets to hold the board, two on the botton and 2 on the back wall using 1/4 inch bolts. The board is even with the storage door when the door is open. The board is about 2 inches from the batteries. I painted the board black before installing it and it looks like it came from the factory with the wall in it.

Well, here is my version of the basement divider, did a little experiment with expanded metal, 1 1/2 aluminum angle and 1/4 inch bolts.
Trying to get everthing in order for our trip to the Escappees HOP in AZ.
