TV converter boxes

I got the TV converter box for the camper with the plan to put it inline with the roof antenna. In my Mountaineer the roof antenna connection is in the bedroom TV cabinet wall. I tried the box today to the bedroom TV and it works. I figure I have to pull this amplifer swith box out of the wall and run the antenna wire to the TV converter and then run the output of the converter back to the switch so it can be used with the bedroom and living room TV's. This should also let me switch between the roof antenna/converter box and satalite as I do now. Has anyone done this or am I thinking wrong?

I believe what you are doing will work. How are you using the remote to change channels?
Did you elect to purchase just one? Each household is allowed two coupons to allow for purchasing two STBs. Then you can place an STB in the bedroom and one in the living room. The connection on the back of the amplifier can remain connected to the ampliflier and you place the STB at the other end of the coax in the living room. The bedroom STB can connect on the RF connection on the front. Or you could purchase a 'splitter' and split the connection on the back of the amplifier if the amplifier is in an inconvenient location to use the front connection.

I guess I only selected the one, should have gotten two so one for each TV, oh well. Only use the antenna & bedroom TV when we have company I don't want to watch cartoons, you know what I mean. The STB I brought does not seem to feed through when turned off, might be wrong, but this means I have to connect into the antenna lead before it goes to the amplifer/splitter if I want to use the existing system antenna wiring. Need to do some more checking. The way Mountaineer installed the antenna splitter in the wall might be interesting since it is in the TV cabinet which buts to the closet wall, must be a space between the two since it does not go through to the closet.

Thanks for you commetns and I will look at it more next week.
