Thanks, Skip. Good info. This kind of reading can get a bit dry, as you know, but number 5 was a real wakerupper!

Steve,
Skip wanted to make sure you read everything you comment on. lol. And yes It is great information if I was still living in LA and 40 years younger.
Skip,
Thanks for the information and full breakdown. Guess I will be forced to stay with N2O2(XZ%#&LSD%AY34R5)this covers those pollutants in the air.

The whole post, from "Helpful Member" down, is a quote so I can't take credit for #5. I think it was put in there specifically wake folks up.

Thank you Skip! An excellant post!

My brother and I had heard about the nitrogen "theory" many many times in the past 30+ years. As it hasn't been around for a number of years we had actually thought it had finally died away. We were very doubtful that Costco actually found some new air for inflation. I was surprised that the "theory" was revived once again.
Costco is apparently using this as a sales gimmick no more no less. They get you in their shop for the $3 tire inflation and while in there they find a series of other problems with your vehicle.
Please consider the fact that if nitrogen was THE gas for inflating tires ALL of the BIG TIRE MANUFACTURERS, Goodyear, Bridgestone/Firestone, BFG, General, Uniroyal, Etc would ALL have their service centers using nitrogen. Once agian for a second opinion contact ANY REPUTABLE TIRE DEALER and apparently Costco is not one of them
