Dometic AC Fan
Well, we took the Monty out of winter storage and headed for Myrtle Beach in March for our first trip of 2005. Everything functioned properly EXCEPT the AC fan(luckily we did not need it). I was testing the various systems and noticed that when I switched the AC on, there was "noise" coming from the AC unit but the fan would not kick on. I switched the AC off and attempted to turn the fan on by itself......nothing. I checked the fuse and the breaker but all appeared normal. The fan worked fine before winter storage. There is no physical damage apparent to the AC unit.
Anyone experienced this before?

If I were addressing this problem, I might open the unit to give the fan a spin and then retry turning it on. Sometimes electrical motors just get hung up and have a hard time overcoming intial inertia due to a number of reasons. While inside you would be able to inspect for obvious obstructions.

How long did you wait for it to come on. Some of the late 2004 and all of the 2005 have about a 3-5 minute delay before compressor and fan will kick on after they have power to them after sitting idle for awhile. Just thought see if that works.

Broome, I noticed the grille on your Ford is different from my Fords. I've seen others with this grille but am not sure the difference. Do you know what package that grill comes with? Is it part of the King Ranch package? Thanks.

Ours is doing the exact same thing, motor is going bad, I climbed on top of the rig and with a long screwdriver , you can reach in and spin the fan blades slightly, switch on the A/C (screwdriver removed of course) and everything works fine, I will be scheduling it in to replace the motor before the warranty expires.

A little grit or dirt in the right place (or the wrong place) may do that. "Obvious obstructions" may include dirt(mud)daubers, wasp nests, etc. On our previous TT we took a trip and discovered red sand all over the stovetop - mud daubers had condominiums in the vent-a-hood !!! The outside vent didn't have a closable door like they have now.
