Slide moves out on its own

Has anyone had a problem with road side slides moving out while in storage. One or both slides move out slowly over time.

Not me. Do you have hydraulic or electric slides? What model/year Montana do you have?

We do need to know your model. If you have hydraulic slides, and you probably do it most likely isn't the slides that are the problem since both move. I would look at the check valve at the pump. Something is allowing fluid to move back when it is setting.

We've had a problem with the top of the kitchen slide tipping out...the bottom stays in but the top tips out...but not the whole thing moving out.

I had an issue with a slid creeping out while traveling and it ended up being a bad seal on the hydraulic ram. Lippert replaced it for me at the last ralley

My 2010 did the same thing while traveling. It ended up being low fluid that allowed air to get in the system. Topped of the tank and no more problem.

Also had this problem about 5 years back. After getting Keystone to fix it at the service center and was told that 2 hydralic lines were loose and were tightened and that every thing was now good. Went to pick up camper and the bedroom slide was out 6 inches at the bottom. They kept the camper another day and did a pressure test on the system and found that one of the slides in the back had a internal leak. The fluid would leak from the high pressure side of the cylinder past the rubber seal to cause the slide to move out.

They allways say if the fluid is low the slide will drift out.Not always.
After arriving and opening the slides to empty contents, the large slide would open real slow. I went to check the fluid and it was almost at the bottom of the tank. They had forgot to top it back up putting lots of air in the system. The slides did not move at all.

Is there a special fluid for the tank? Is the fluid only for Montana or can you mix fluids?

I have a 2006 and the book said to use ATF (autotransmission fluid) but the book specifically said not to use Ford Type fluid (I think it's called Type F), so I used some kind of Dextron ATF, too.

I had that problem with my '08 3475. When starting out 1 slide would move out about 4 inches. I would just stop and retract it again and then it would stay put. I never did figure out a cure. But after retracting the 2nd time it always stayed.
