Stupid can strike anytime

We finished the wet bolt job this afternoon so I decided to do a load of laundry. Betsy came in about a half hour after I started the laod and said "What is all this water from????" Yesterday I had put my gate valve on the sewer dump so it would not dribble while we were working on the wet bolts. YES I did forget to open the valve before doing laundry DUHHHH! When we installed the unit I placed a beach towel under the entire bottom of the washer to help slide it and the dryer in and out, also as a drip catcher. We now have a new DRY towel under there and mostly everything else is dry or drying. We have a Spot Bot that we use for small stains and spills and it has a hose with a small upholstery head. It worked great and got 90% of the water out of the edge of the carpet and also sucked up all the water on the vinyl. (Love that Machine). So if you install a gate on your main sewer dump and you have a washer that goes straight to the dump pipe (on newer models) Remember to OPEN the gate before flodding the kitchen... Dave P.S. John helped me move the units out of the closet and re install them, THANK YOU H. JOHN KOHL!!!

Been there done that, but only once. The real test is whether you do it twice.

Stiles, I've done it twice. Never in this 3400RL but twice in our 2003 3295RK which had the laundry plumbed into the gray tank, which valve I neglected to open.
