Howdy from Texas

Greetings from the Lone Star State!

My husband Dave and I took delivery this past Saturday on our 2009 (new unit) Montana 3585SA, 10th Anniversary Edition. We had a 4-day weekend to move from our travel trailer, famliarize ourselves with our 5er, have the receiver installed in the truck, etc. I towed that big beast home yesterday for 5 hours and loved it! We tow with a 2008 Ford F-350 diesel 4x4 long bed, SRW. We have the Mor-Ryde suspension and kingpin.

We currently are resident managers of a self-storage facility with plans to hit the road in the spring of 2011 to full-time, workamp, etc. Dave is from Scotland, so there is much of our beautiful country he has not yet seen. Although I grew up with bumper pulls and have seen much of the US, I'd like to see some of those places again.

I see the Spring MOC Rally will be in Kerrville, which is just right down the road from us. Who knows, perhaps we'll be there! I've been to Holiday Rambler National Rallies as a kid and it was quite the experience.

So, hello and howdy to everyone from just north of Austin, Texas! See ya on the road!

If you can possibly swing it, attend the Spring Rally in Kerrville. It will be a terrific opportunity to meet some of the folks here on the MOC forum. Plus you will have a chance to see and learn more information about your Montana and full timing from the people who know.

Welcome and we hope you have many happy times in that new unit. You may as well break it in right by coming to the Spring rally in Texas.

Howdy! We're MOC members who are native Texans (temporarily living in Montana, but ONLY temporarily). Welcome to the MOC forum!

If you can possibly get to the Spring Rally, you need to go. We attended our first rally last June in Oregon and met so many friends we'd known only through the forum prior to that rally. It's impossible to tell you how valuable the rallies are, not just for finding out tricks of the trade, but also for meeting the most wonderful people you can imagine.

When we get back to Texas, we'll be fulltiming and plan to make Austin our home base again, although we'll be returning to Montana regularly to see our kids and grandkids who now live there. Still, for us Texas will always be home.

Plan to attend that rally! If I weren't teaching through May, I'd be back for it in a heartbeat.

Howdy!! Congrats on your purchase of a new Montana. We certainly enjoy ours. The Montana Owners forum is the best place to ask questions and learn everything you ever wanted to know about Keystone and our Montana's.

Welcome from a Montana owner in San Antonio! Yes, try to make a few days if not all of the Spring Rally in Kerrville. We did the Tucson Rally in 2008 and still communicate with new friends from that Rally. And we learned a ton of great stuff. Keep an eye on this forum for great ideas and problem solving. Hope to see you somewhere down the road!

Welcome, welcome and a big Howdy from a neighbor South of Austin Texas. We live about two miles from the Salt Lick BBQ in Driftwood.

Hope you are at the rally. The campground is wonderful....we will be there for New Years Eve with friends. This makes our third year in a row to ring in the New Year at this campground.
