Switched model!!!

Well we went to pick up new 3100Rl and was totally disappointed.. Had so many flaws, scrapes, carpet patches and snack cart was particle board with papered wood, peeling off.. we told them it was not what we expected. We decided upon a 3150RL they had in stock.. quality was much better. Now for a few questions, the board under mattress is 8-9 inches shorter than mattress and I feel like I am sliding to the floor sitting on it.. Should it be a bit longer? Had TV on and electric heater going, plugged in vacuum and popped GFI outlet. Is there a particular outlet that could run the heater while using other electrical products? I also notice our counter tops are missing the Corian rubber medallion, are they still Corian? I see the sinks are made by American Stonecast.. Thank you again..

Did you trip the GFCI outlet or the circuit breaker? If you had a heater plugged in and turned on the vacuum, you overloaded the circuit and the circuit breaker should have tripped. The GFCI will trip due to a fault to ground, not an overloaded circuit.

If you don't have a fireplace that outlet in the cupboard under the TV is a dedicated circuit that we plug our heater into.

I just reset the GFI button.. and worked after unplugging the heater.. How long does the 2 tanks of propane usually last? We will use it night and morning a while for furnace at the coast this summer and a little for cooking, last trailer lasted one season but tanks were a bit larger.. Dealer said they sent us home with full tanks but after running furnace first 4 days (day only) for setting up one is already empty.. Hopefully after it is warmed up fireplace can take over..

Is your mattress a king size? We replaced the king with a queen and had to cut 4 inches off each side for the queen to fit.

We have never popped a GFI, only breakers.

Our counter top does not have the Corian emblem either, but it is Corian, I think. :O)

We are very pleased with our 3150RL, hopefully you will be too.

Mattress is queen.. Like the floor space you get with the queen... The mattress sure isn't what I expected is very light and hardly any support. I am thinking we will need to replace it..

Try sitting on the side next to the shower rather than the end of the bed. I don't know why the board doesn't come closer to the edge but mine is just like yours so I expect they are all the same. Jim is spot on regarding your electrical issue. Ours are Corian. I don't know about the 2012 models.
I believe you'll enjoy the 3150RL. We love ours.

Sorry to read about your disappointment. Major bummer. Sorry note when the dealer would even let you see it without having taking corrective actions ahead of time.

If your furnace only went thru one tank in 4 days that is bout average. Our trailer is a lil smaller and if it is down to the 30's or 40's we go thru a tank in about 3 days if we are using it full time. Now if it stays in the 30's or less or it is windy you can go thru tanks pretty fast. If you don't have the fireplace then get a small space heater to supplement the furnace. But if it is extremly cold be sure to run the furnace so it heats the water pipes and tanks. I also did the same thing you did with the vacuum but it popped a breaker not the GFI. I plugged it in to the other side of the trailer and was fine. Got rid of the boat anchor of a TV and now have a flat screen which they say uses less amps or power so hope it wont happen again. Our mattress is a queen and it is the same way. Got the shock of my life the first time I sat down on the end of the bed. Learned quickly to sit on the side.

Our bed platform was the same. I took a piece of plywood and put it over the bed platform, it works great.

We use electric heaters to supplement the furnace and even instead of the furnace. When temperatures are in hard freeze territory for more than a couple hours, then we run the furnace. We'll still run the electric heaters if the temperatures are to be lower than the mid-20's. When it's that cold the electric heat is not enough and the furnace will run enough to keep the belly and pipes warm. The furnace only needs to run occasionally to take care of the pipes. If we're paying for electricity we find the cost is about the same as heating with propane and it's a whole lot easier than having to tote a propane bottle for refilling.

I was using the furnace only a few hours a day to put our things back in the rv. Temps are upper 50's to low 40's at night, so it wasn't on very long each day.. I tried vacuuming again yesterday and the vacuum acted like it was losing and gaining power (kind of revving) then kicked the GFIC again. TV lost electricity for a moment and came back on, I reset the outlet and had to set time on microwave/convection again as it turned off also. Any help appreciated..

Just FYI, In my 3150RL the vacuum is on the same circuit as the refrigerator and its a 15 AMP circuit.

Where is this GFCI located?

Could it be a bad CGCI?

I just checked my GFCI outlets, I have 2, 1 in the kitchen on the living room side of the counter. The other is at the bathroom sink.

I pushed the test button on both outlets and tried my vacuum cleaner and it still worked. My Micro was also on.

Where is yours?

One is below the kitchen counter facing living room,(next to counter extension) second is in by bath vanity.. First time I was using my own small vacuum and it kicked the living room one, last time I was using the central vac and it kicked the bath one off... Tv was on both times and both times tv flickered shut off and came back on and microwave the same..before I reset the outlets...

Have you gone into your breaker box and tried to tighten all the screws holding the 120V electric wires? IE, the breakers, the grounds and the neutrals.

Be sure to unplug from the power post first.

I just went and checked my TV, I pushed the test button on both GFCI outlets, my TV still worked, just like the Microwave.

first thing we do when we get a trailer is to replace the mattress, trailer mattresses are terrible. yes, there is a bit of over hang on the mattress/board.
we are the exceptiong, i guess, we've had numerous problems with our 3150 and the noisy furance will drive you nuts in cool/cold weather, thank god we have the fireplace and we use an electric heater when we can.
go luck.

JnSWells....I'm very new here, but thought I'd contribute.....reading your electrical issues, you are describing problems spanning what should be 3 different circuits....you may take a look in your breaker panel at the labels....you may find a breaker for the Microwave, another for the Vacuum, and yet another for the kitchen GFCI....I would think that the gfci that is tripping when you vacuum should be on a different circuit than the microwave....so, if, while vacuuming the gfci tripped AND the microwave also lost power, you may want to have someone look at your breaker panel and check to see if the actual wires that supply power to the breaker panel from the shore power are faulty....Hope you get it solved soon and enjoy your new unit.
