Pin Box Upgrade

Considering upgrading the pin box on our Montana High Country 293RK. Lippert makes a couple different models as does Mor-Ryde (sp?). Any thoughts or recommendations. Tow vehicle is 2015 Ford 250 short bed crew cab model. Hitch is Reese 18k slider model.

Absolutely love our Mor-Ryde Rubber pin box. Its amazing to see the clean spots the pucks leave and how much movement it actually takes up. It makes the whole ride smooth with no chucking.

We certainly agree with cw3jason. Would not pull without one now(Mor-Ryde).

+1 on the Mor-Ryde Rubber pin box. Night and day difference after the change out.

One more vote for the Mor-Ryde. I bought mine from Tweety's for a lot less then they were offering them at the 2014 Fall Rally in Goshen. Took about 1 hour to take off the old and put on the new. Wow, what a difference. Jim

Ours came with a Mor-Ryde and we've never thought we needed another.

Check out Trail-air tri glide. It is a good pin box. Have had one for 4 years.

Reese Fifth Airborne ... very similar to the Trail Air. Bucking the response trend ... I like it a bit better than the Mor Ryde that came on my fiver.

I have a Trail Air. With that said I think any of air ride hitches will work about as good as any. Pick out the one you like.

We have had the Mor Ryde pin box on both our Montana's but IMO the trail air is a better product.

Mr Ryde mainly addresses chucking (back and fort movement ) Trailair mainly addresses bounce (up and down movement)IMO it is the bounce that destroys the front of the 5th wheel. We just went with the trailer saver BD 3 hitch in the truck to reduce front end damage.

I agree with Rich ... air cushioned pinboxes absorb more road shock than sliding plate pinboxes. I had no issue with the Mor Ryde pinbox as it did what was advertised. I just wanted a pinbox that further addresed bumps and such in the road. It was a bit cheaper than an air hitch for the truck bed.

We will be evaluating how the Mor Ryde pin box works with the Trail air BD3 Truck hitch. We are determined to not have the front end of this Montana come apart.

I too am very interested in your experience with the combination of the Mor-Ryde and BD3. I seriously considering the BD3. I just need more data to support my buying decision with my wife!

We have the Flexair by Lippert and I would not trade for anything out there. Like the air ride and it has to save wear and tear on the front of the trailer.. Might be a little pricey but worth it.

I see no reason why the combination will not work.Trailersaver says not a problem We will give it a good test on out 1200 miles trip home in April. We have had front end failure on our 06 3400, twice and the service center just did the longer screws in the front end overhang on this 13 3402 that wee all know will not last.Don't know how many more times our Extended warranty will pay for the same failure.
