Sewer extension

New to my 2010 3400rl. There is a black extension pipe on a swivel by the sewer outlet. Can someone tell me what it's for and how it works. Thanks

That is the infamous Sewer Boom. It was designed to hold your sewer hose and keep connected the sewer outlet. It seems it replaced the storage compartment in earlier models. Here is a discussion when it first came out. http://www.montanaowners.com/forums/...ad.php?t=34368

Your sewer hose is stored inside of the black pipe and the hose is connected to the sewer outlet. To use it you undo the clasp that is holding it in place and turn it in the direction of the campground hook up.
I use mine all the time. Some people don't like them and remove it. The choice is yours.
