T.P.

Excuse me everyone for bringing up this subject BUTT it is of some importance.
We are not yet able to do the full time thing YET. Or go out for more than 3 to 6 days at a time. Since my sensors on the black tank never really worked and it's no big deal you pretty much know your level capacity per day. is it really worth the( how should I say) wear and tear on your backside to use camping toilet paper. Whenever I do my final flush I make sure that have done a good job. After draining the tank I flush through the top, then from the bottom through the 45 degree elbow, then back from the top. I know that the camp paper dissolves faster but you would think that the camp sewer system should be built to handle regular T.P.

Thanks
Dennis.

Dennis,

No need to use RV toilet paper, just make sure you use plenty of water which helps break up the paper.

I just look for septic safe label on the package and use two ply, not single ply crap.

As long as it is septic safe you can use it you should use lots of water in your black tank.

We use Members Mark from Sam's Club. Never had a problem. We are full time RVers. I flush out my tank every week and add the RV tank additive to help break down the toilet paper and keep the smell down. I have a clear piece on my dump so I can see when It's clear.

As suggested on here by another member, after dumping at a site I fill black tank to about a third full add my chemicals then a bag of ice down the toilet just prior to leaving. The ice sloshing around does an excellent job of removing any residue. We use regular Charmin tp and never an issue.

I use a brown cob first and then a white cob. If the white cob turns brown then I use another brown cob! All cobs are septic safe and use PLENTY of water.

For a thorough cleaning use cordless drill with corn cob adapter.

We got plenty of corn cobs double sweet and triple sweet. Much better than field corn cobs, softer.

American tp is American tp other country's make it differently.
but as long as you have plenty of water in the black tank and chems to cut the smell and help "speed" things up a bit there is no worry's as to brand.
but would like to try out a bidet.
cost of tp ver water usage??

We use Angel Soft (Septic Safe) after attending a Camper Clinic at our Winter RV Park. The presenter demonstrated the disolving rate of single squares of different brands in water. The RV paper was the slowest to disolve. You can do this test yourself by placing a square ot TP in a dish of water and watch it disolve. The one that disolves the fastest is the one you want.

After empying our tank I add a couple gallons of water to the closed tank. Then I add 2 TBSP of SeaZyme enzyme to the tank. This helps the solids decompose while it sits in the tank till the next emptying. You can buy the SeaZyme from gnlrvspecialties.com. Gary and Linda are honest folks and will mail the product to you.

Before each flush, add enough water to cover what is in the bowl.

Better than T.P.!

We had Pocono RV install two SW2043 Toto Washlets in our Montana 3921 before we took delivery last year. We have nearly eliminated the use of sensor blocking TP! We have never wash down either black tank and have found that the main bathroom black tank drains “clean”. The powder room black tank now needs to be washed down since it is used by friends and extended family who don’t understand how to use the Washlet. Considering that the powder room is only occasionally used I see a big difference in the two tanks. I probably wouldn’t bother putting the Washlet in the powder room since the wife and I never use it. Pocono did an excellent job, since they had to install 120v receptacles and switch toilets to accommodate the Toto. I highly recommend this modification and the wife loves the heated seat.

If use the Toto Washlet and dry camp just unplug the 120 v, if you have 120 v, and it uses no water.
