Like a lot of MOC'ers I was with National Interstate for years. Went with Progressive last year based on opinions here and (primarily) on a recommendation from USAA, my primary insurance carrier (house, vehicles, umbrella). Last year paid about 1350. This year they want $1522. This is for $1K deductible for both comprehensive and collision. We use the rig less than 60 days per year. Does this sound reasonable? Don't want to think that USAA would steer me wrong, but sounds kind of high.

Drjjj,

That is too high for a non full timer. After 35 years with USAA I left them a couple of years back and went with GEICO. Much better service and prices. Cost for RV is under $600 a year with $500 deductible and full replacement coverage.

That doesn't sound too high to me if that includes your home and cars

Not a full timer. Full coverage, direct replacement, not prorated value. $500.00 deductible cost me $426.00 yearly with Progressive. FW is paid for, if that mattered. Best price I have ever found? I do not have anything else with them. Just the FW.

Just got my 2019-2020 policy from AMICA. $1000 deductible, NY State is $483 which is $.00 less then last year. SF Northeast Headquarters is about 4 miles away couldn't come close. Locally, SF is not well liked as either an empolyer or an insurer

GEICO

Just bought full time RV insurance. 2011 37' Montana with F250 truck. $1775 per year for both. $500 deductibles. Several upgrades above basic insurance. No house or other cars. Will not go with Progressive.

We have State Farm for our home, cars and the trailer........For full coverage on the trailer, with a $250.00 deductible,, the added cost was around $45.00 a month. So about $600.00 a year.

Trailer Insurance Cost????

We are getting full-time quotes as we are selling our home next month and going full-time. Our RV is a 2015 3611RL and 2013 Ford F-350. Our home base is Montana. The quotes are coming in +- $3,000/year. I don't see anyone saying their premium is so high.

Full time insurance

Insurance costs very by where you have your home listed. Ours is the State of Washington. Our cost for upgraded full time RV's insurance is just under $1800 per year. Only a few insurance companies write full time's insurance. We chose GEICO. Had good reviews and was a little cheaper than Good Sam. Includes full coverage on the truck also.

The last time I checked Farmers and AAA did not offer full timers RV insurance. Make sure you are getting what you need.

Cost of RV Insurance

Just paid ours and it was $795.00 (Foremost) through Farmers Insurance. Not cheap, but necessary I suppose!!
