Larger TV and desk delete on the 3400RL

I really like my 3400RL floor plan and will probably go with the same layout again hopefully in the Big Sky version this spring. I would like to suggest giving the buyer a 2nd option in regards to the entertainment slide related to the TV and the computer desk. I realize that many folks like the desk, but in the 8 years I've had my 34000RL, I don't think I've actually sat at the desk more than 6 times. I would much rather sacrifice the desk in return for a full slide entertainment system INCLUDING a much larger TV. Many coaches are now placing 45" and or up to 55"/60" LCD and LED TV's in their units. I believe folks would like to have the "option" to order the 3400RL with the standard desk/TV configuration OR delete the desk in exchange for a large 55" LED TV and entertainment slide out. Take the 3455SA as a basic design example and expand it from there. I want a stack-able washer/dryer in my next coach so that eliminates any of the side aisle layouts that have the TV/entertainment slide out. Another example of what I am describing would be to look at the Redwood 36RL. A decent size TV with cabinets above and below along with the fireplace in the center below the TV. I know that the 36RL is a singe slide, but you could mirror that overall design to fit within the single entertainment slide of the 3400RL. I would suggest deleting the "lift" and window in that slide and just build the cabinet system to fill the entire slide out. I realize that I am younger than most of your buyers, but being one that is planning on going full time in the next 3-6 months, electronics and entertainment are something that is important to me. I would rather sit in my recliners and work on my laptop while watching the game or a movie instead of sitting on the side of the TV at the desk. Just my opinion and suggestion on something that would make the ownership experience even better...

We previously had the 3400 plan and have moved past that desk/tv slide and will never return to it. We like the rear plan of our 3455 much better but had to give up the entry closet.

Give us the front(bedroom) half of the new 3402 with the entry closet and the rear half of the 3455 with the desk oposite that entry closet and we might be dealing again!!!

Our 46", our first, in the house is plenty big. I can't imagine something that large or larger in the Monty considering how close it would be. I love my desk as well. Like Ron, I guess I'm old to. I will be 66 in May which in RV years is about 30. LOL

Same here, it's one of the reasons we bought the 3400. When using our computers, one of us can use the desk and one can use the table

I'm a desk kinda computer user too, and I am always at my desk, as I rarely watch the telie.

But, Dave's suggestion does have merit for many, I know LOTS of folks use a lap top, as a LAP computer.

As for the size of the telie, oh, go for it! Tim Allen would approve!

I don't see this as a young vs old thingy, I see it as a "I like my telie screen HUGE and my lap top on my lap" vs, "I wanna desk" kinda thing. No right or wrong, just give me what I want! LOL

I apologize if my reference to age offended anyone. I was only trying to convey that I am 32 years old and I know that not many 32 year old folks are out there buying their 3rd Montana, or a fully loaded Big Sky or Redwood at this age. I bought my first Montana when I was 21 and my current coach when I was 25 years old. My reference to age was only to point out that many folks that are full timing are retired and not as concerned with technology as those of us who are very young in our careers. I think a 50" or 55" in an RV would be very nice -- especially since I have a 70" LED in my house now. I realize that Keystone is trying to build a quality RV that is focused more so for an age demographic that is above mine -- hence the reason I stated that deleting the desk and offering a large TV would be a nice option on the 3400RL - not a requirement. Again, my apologies to all if I have offended you, it was not my intent.

No need to apologize Dave... You are the next( or next to the next generation) that will be keeping this industry alive.. I am sure your opinion is very valuable to Keystone and all other manufacturers.. As you know, I have grandchildren older then you but we love to chat with you and get your ideas.. Keep it up.. Keystone will listen... And my friend,,, DO NOT ever apologize for being young...I only wish we were.

Absolutely no need to apologize. I'm damn proud to look like I do...I've covered lots of miles and all the roads weren't paved!

Dave:
I agree that there is no need to apologize. I just say "To each his own." I think that you are one of Keystones better customers and that if you maybe contacted them and put the money up front, they would build you a custom rig that you want for show and tell out on the road. I think you travel a lot around the country and this would be a good sales pitch for them. Right... JB
