Angiogram

Prayers and good wishes are requested for next Wednesdays angiogram in Phoenix. After the two bouts with pneumonia and 3 months in the hospital, my cardiologist feels it's necessary to check the ticker. I have been out walking in the park lately trying to build my strength in my legs. Done with the therapists now so am totally on my own for rehab. After the angiogram it's to our fitness center for weight training, may hire a trainer to get me started. Anyone know what to look for in a trainer????[

Thanks in advance. Phil

UPDATE:::: Well, thanks to the med profession, they moved this procedure to Friday at noon. Just didn't want anyone to get prayed out by then......lol

Philip Paramore

Thought I would post an update on my recovery. No more home health as I am getting out and about now, no driving yet, Cathy won't let me behind the wheel. Kinda nice being chauffered everywhere. Strength returning to legs, can actually walk a couple blocks now, slow but sure. BP is still all over the place and I am trying to regulate that with the help of my cardiologist. I am going in Wednesday for an angiogram to check heart arteries, hopefully that won't be something I have to deal with at this point. Still having periods of weakness and dizziness that, I feel, are related to so much medication. Finally took my first pneumovax immunization and trying to get scheduled for a shingles vacccine. Thanks to everyone for their prayers and good wishes, keep them coming for Wednesdays procedure and a full and speedy recovery....

Best of luck to you and our Prayers are with you.

As for a trainer, someone who does more than just "Pick Things Up & Put Them Down"

Phil,

Prayers and good wishes are coming your way. Look how far you have come.

When you join the fitness center they will sit down with you and take your medical history and what your goals are. From there, they will recommend a trainer for you. (that's what my experience has been) You can also go and just use the cardio machines and check out the trainers as they work with other members too. You might see a trainer that you like the way they interact with others. The trainers are all certified.

Lots of luck and let us know how you make out.

Hoping things go well. You might want to tell your prospective trainer what your goals are and ask how he could help you meet them. If you like what you hear and the price is right, you are good to go.

Phil, we are still here in site 954. Didn't realize you were home or we would have been down. Maybe I can call the yoga teacher from last winter and she could give you a recommendation. Let me know. Take care of yourself.

Phil,
Sorry to hear of yet another "test". But we're finding out that there are an awful lot of them! Thankfully for whatever reason many of them don't seem as strange or as painful as they used to be! Get the test done. Get whatever meds and or processes that are required so you can get well and STAY WELL! Keep hanging in there brother. Dennis

Phil, praying for the best for you! What has worked well for me in the past as far as "working out" is getting to a pool. I joined 24-hour fitness real cheap through Costco and just go to the water aerobics class which you just do what you can at your own pace. That and some good stretching goes a long way. Ninety percent of the battle for me is just getting to the darn place! Take care!
