Water connection leaks

On our 2015 Montana there is a white plastic cover over the water connection points- 1 for fresh water, 1 for filling the tank and 1 for flushing (if I'm remembering correctly). There seems to be a leak behind the cover for the fresh water connection. Can anyone tell me how to replace the white cover or what is behind it? We plan to try to take it apart this weekend to see what we can see but if anyone has been through this please share your experience!

This is what my 2019, 3130re looks like when you take off the wall cover in the basement. I added the styrofoam on the pipes to quiet the water pumb. Different thread.

Once you get the basement wall removed (a couple of screws) you'll find all the connections. Usually it's just a matter of tightening connections. Once I had to replace the water connection itself. Got the part from an RV dealer, didn't have to be Montana specific.

True. When I had mine open the fittings were finger loose. I tightened them up.

I found the water connection leaking and cheap plastic. Replaced with a brass fitting.

That was one of the first repairs I made to our rig when new, tightening the water fittings behind the convenience center. This is just a Welcome to RVing episode, and if things are not leaking right now, just wait a while and you will have more.

If Montana sends the trailers out plumbed and wired like that then someone needs to be replaced! If I wired crap like that at my work I'd be fired lol!

One thing to keep in mind, IMHO, is the environment is a little bit different than a normal Sticks-and-Bricks setting, namely a lot of vibration as the rig travels the roads and RV parks, and the time constraints on the RV factory workers.
Granted some of the 'workmanship' is of the taking-shortcuts variety, but a lot of backed-off fittings are no doubt due to vibration. So far, in updating and maintaining our (new to us) 2012 Monty, the workmanship is better than SOB we had earlier, and very little poor factory assembly experienced so far. Some poor design, but that's another story !

Correct. Hand tighten them only!

What is surprising to me in Daryl's picture of the back side of the convenience center is the presence of the furnace right below all of those water connections and the possibilities of even a drip!

Mark7, that picture is not oriented correctly. The tangle of wiring is the view towards the rear of the unit. The dark grey to right is passthrough floor. No furnace in sight.

It's a backflow prevention device. If water comes out of it, it needs replaced. $30 part, get a brass one. Montana puts in plastic ones. They fail often.
