Black Mold On Roof

I was washing my roof yesterday and noticed some little round black
spots of what looks like mold. Is this normal for a rubber roof??
I normally just use Ivory liquid and a brush on the roof. I heard some of you say that you use some bleach. Will the bleach remove the black mold spots?? Any help would be appreciated.

I wouldn't worry with it. It's not going to hurt a thing.

Ivory or Dawn dish soap is good at removing basic dirt, but not stains and black dots. I've had good luck with Protect-All Rubber Roof Cleaner or the Camco equivalent and a soft bristled brush. An application of Aerospace 303 after you clean the roof makes the next cleaning a lot easier plus it has UV protectant. Many don't like to get up on the roof, but "it ain't no thang " to me.

Agree with Lynwood. Would not worry about it. Mold will not cause deterioration on the rubber roof.

You only found a few Black spots??? heck I got about a Hundred right now Don't worry about it as it hurts nothing and nobody sees it, what I do about once a year is use my ELECTRIC 1700 P.S.I power washer and it takes them Off great DO NOT use a GAS Powered 2000+ P.S.I. power washer as they are too powerful and might take off the caulking

After cleaning mine I found spots but look more like the natural rubber, the white has worn off. Anything I should do or will it be ok.

For the first time with our newest Montana, mold spots on the roof. I don't worry about it. If your 2002 roof is worn down to the black composite under the white, if original roof, ie 14 years old, likely got your money's worth and roof is showing its age. There are some rubber roof paints out there you can use to resurface and extend the life of the roof.
