I'm in Rhode Island...got about two feet here but the high winds made drifts up to six feet high. Took me and my wife 2 hours to shovel out a path and the front of our driveway. The governor called a state of emergency and that meant my workload went up. The Montana is covered in snow. Makes me happy to think we're taking it in March to Florida and some other southern places...

We got that storm before it hit the NE, left 8 to 12 inches here, I think Tipton got 8, I took picture of Al blowing out the Montana. I have it posted on our web pages, go to the main page, all the way to the bottom, Montana Tours of 2005, page 1

Compared to the NE, I got NOTHING!

It took 24 hours to see a snow plow down our dirt roads tho. Sunday AM, almost every expressway around Detroit had horrible accidents, 6 and 8 cars, freeways CLOSED, 5 mile backups. The wind got us!

Again, NOTHING compare to the NE.

Nice of you to ask! We had about 14" here in upstate NY with winds up to 35 mph and last night's low was -16F. Yes it was darn chilly! We did the driveway in two sessions about 6hrs apart so the snowblower handled it easily. We were VERY fortunate! The biggest problem we had was that the snow was too deep for the puppy (above his nose!)so we had to snow blow paths to his favorite "you know what" spots to prevent inside accidents. In any case we have been wondering about folks up in MA, ME and the Canadian Maritimes. Hope you will check in eventually and let us know how you all are.

We only got about 4 - 6 inches. Fifteen miles away got 24". Location, Location, Location. Went to the Chicago Boat, RV and Travel show Sunday. Not one Montana in McCormack place. Disappointing. Had hoped to see a new Cambridge. Maybe the Chicago RV show at Rosemont in February.

We had about 6 inches here on Saturday, which went on top of the previous snow storm plus the freezing rain. We had a little more today and are expecting more in the next few days. Thank goodness for the snowblower. Feel very sorry for those on the East coast of the States and Canada, they are really hurting.

Near Hamilton we got close to 12". We're about 1.5hrs west of Whitby and when there is an easterly wind Lake Ontario gives us lots of snow here. We drove to Outdoor Travel on Saturday to look at a new 3500 but managed to get back home before it got too bad out. The streets are starting to narrow down because of the plow mounds. This may prevent us from being able to bring our new Monty home when it comes in the end of Feb. My lucky neighbours are in Florida for the month of Jan so I get to clean out their driveway as well as our own. It takes about 2 hours to do both with a snowblower but I'm actually enjoying the exercise!

It was a bright sunny but cold day on Sunday. We drove to the campground where we keep our Monty on a seasonal basis. It was nice to walk through the campground and remember better weather.

I'm about 30 miles NW of Boston. Got about 27"! My Montana looks REALLY high now! Of course, my snowblower died this past Saturday; took it to the service place and was told I needed a new carb. They couldn't fix it until today. Luckily, the snow was very light so shoveling was not too physically painful, just emotionally painful! Shoveled just enough to get the truck down the driveway.
Can't wait for our first camping trip in the Spring, if this huge amount of snow ever goes away!

My heart just goes out to all of you dealing with all the snow, cold and ice (except for Sue ... she's just nuts). Although we lived with cold, snow and ice for nearly 30 years, I don't think we ever had to deal with THAT much snow!

We attended a potluck dinner at our park this evening and I was chatting with a lady whose children are on Cape Cod where there has been no power for a couple of days.

For all you snow-bound MOCers ... take care while shoveling ... stay warm ... think warm thoughts ... and dream about being in your Montana in July!

We got about 20" here in Indiana. I was glad it wasn't a heavy wet snow because I would still be outside trying to remove it from the driveway.

Sorry guys I just couldn't resist sending you this pic. The last time the Rio Grande had snow was 1895 and this was the first White Christmas ever. The other pic is our summer parking lot for the RV at our house on Lake Ontario. I hope I did it right. http://community.webshots.com/album/243567106klMufh

Nice pictures, Bill and Ann! The rig looks great! You can keep the snow, though. We had 2" and 8" snows while we were in KC and got out of there an hour or so before the ice storm they got earlier this month. Too close for comfort.

Thanks Vicki, I love you too (lol)

Actually, it's been pleasant dealing with the snow. I have been married 25 years and I finally "FORCED" my husband to buy a snow blower, so I offically love it when it snows now

Gee I kinda feel cheated We were supposed to get 8-12 inches and only got 5 1/2 in. Guess I won't complain too much. Got a snow blower about 4 years ago and I do about three neighbors. They appreciate it.
Can't imagine what two feet or more would be like.

Just north of Boston in Peabody we got 30 inches. Pushed my way out the front door so I could shovel. Have 6 foot drifts out behind the house where the wind blows up the hill and drops the snow behind the house and Montana. Not so bad, last year we one storm that left 42 inches. Looking forward to spring!!!!!!!

Ron -

Two feet would look like a cloud of dust and a hearty high 'o Silver with your new blower. I have an 8hp Ariens with the cab over the controls. Its the greatest deterrent to snow known to man. Still waiting for that first big snow since I got my new blower about five years ago. It is a nice machine, so I'd like something to practice on.
