Should I use a portable heater for winter storage?

I live in the great Pacific Northwest and I have just tucked my 3295RK in for the winter. I used a compressor to blow out all the water lines. I placed a couple of the cannisters with calcium in the RV. Put anti-freeze in all the traps. I don't anticipate any problems but I do have a quesiton on wheather or not I need to have heat inside? If some of you do use portable heating systems what temperature do you set them at? What kind or name brand do you use?
Thanks,

After I have my coach winterized I back it into the garage, open the fridge, along with crack the roof vents open and leave it for winter. I have done this in my previous Montana as well as the current one, have not had any trouble yet.

We live on the BC Coast ( just north of Vancouver) and I have always left a heater in our unit on the low setting
( 500 watts). Our humidity is so hi here all winter, it keeps the mildew and mold out of the unit.
the calcium might do the same thing.

Iowa is cold REALY cold in the winter (like -20) I winterize with antifreeze, dry out the fridge, leave the top vents open just a bit, put LOTS of mouse products out and then lock it up. Never had a problem. (except withdrawal symptoms from no camping) Then wait impaiently till spring!

Bruce, WE live just north of you in Deming. I had my unit winterized and a small electric heater to help on the mold. The last lengthy freeze we just had everything checks out OK. Why don't you do what we are going to do. A couple of days after Xmas the wheels roll south to warm up. If you can't to that hope you can join us in Shasta next May.

Got to admit we do not have the mold problem here..The air is cold and dry in the winter.Like others we leave the fridge open and crack the roof vents.Have heard that a couple of 40 or 60 watt light bulbs in the camper will deal with the mold issue.

After winterizing...I place 3 dehumidifiers in the trailer..you can get them at Camping world...they use a small amount of electricity.
That and keeping the vents cracked seem to work just fine.

Exfuzz02, don't you have to keep emptying dehumidifiers?

I too live in the Pac NW, Down on the Key Peninsula. We always keep a heater in the Monty on low (500 watts). It keeps mold from forming and we don't worry about freezing inside, I just open all cabinet doors and the air keeps circulating. I do drain all the water lines and leave all drains open. seems to do the job.

You guys have it tough. Down here we winterize by wearing a long-sleeved shirt.
