DISH TV
I'm not sure this is the place for this question, but I have to start someplace. Our permanent address is in Centennial, Colorado. For years we have received our local Denver channels wherever we go in the lower 48 when we set up our DISH satellite. We left Colorado Feb. 2 and set up our DISH in Tucson on Feb. 5. Since then we have not received Denver channels. Yesterday, when we called to find our why, we were told they have a new policy and local channels are only available within 200 miles of our home city.
Do other full-timers and long-timers, or just travelers, experience the same thing these days? If not, who do we call? If so, how do we get this changed?
Please help!

Yep! Question has come up many times.
I don't think you will get "local" programming, but you can get the national feeds.
Try All American Direct

We have Dish as well from Lone Tree CO, right next to you. No local service on the road. Just a part of it I guess.

Thanks for your replies, Waynem and Brad. I have saved the form needed and will print and fax it later today.
Brad, from reading the information at the web site, it looks like you will need a separate receiver for your RV to get networks on the road. I guess I'm glad we are going full-time, rather than part time now.
By the way, I had also emailed Dish last night and they also gave me the contact with American Direct. I wish the customer service rep I talked to earlier in the day had been as helpful.

John,
When we call customer service anywhere, it's "first monkey out of the barrel!"

My parents are in TX for the winter from Colorado and still get there local channels. I'm pretty sure they don't let Dish know that they've moved for a few months. Not sure what your situation is, but that has been our experience as well.

We have DirectTV and when we got to the RGV all I did was call them and give them a new ZIP code and walla we got the local channels here. No matter what you may want you won't get your local channels back home whether you have Dish or DirectTV. You may want to check with DirectTV as we got a flyier especially for RVers that provided a free dish, tripod, and DVR recorder. I use our reciever from our home base. I had no problems setting it up.

I was told that if your home registered residence is more than 200 or 250 miles that is the maximum miles that the FCC allows transmission of Local TV chanels for that zip code area.

Don has it right about the spot beam the satellite providers use. Depending upon where one is they usually use about a 250 mile radius from the broadcast city. When I had Houston for locals I could pick them up north to almost the Dallas area. Now that I have Dallas as locals I get them into the south part of Oklahoma.
Until 2002 they were not restricted as they are now. Yes, FCC rules apply here, but the blame for what has happened rests with the cable companies. They are the ones that applied the pressure (money talks) to the FCC for the rule changes.

Correction on my previous post. RV special includes dish, tripod, and 50 ft of cable and I saw the ad in this month's Highways Magazine. So much for a good memory. CRS strikes again.
