What skills are sought after

When my wife and I hit the road in a year or so we want to be able to earn while we are in various parks, campgrounds, etc. For those of you that are already out there, what skill are these places looking for. My current skills include: carpentry, some electrical, heavy on computers (PC software/hardware), all around handy man and retail sales. My wife's background is accounting for small businesses.

Would it be helpful to get Red Cross certified?

The skills required are to work long hours for little or no pay. You can earn a maybe free campsite and utilities.

We have never worked in an RV park. But we spend several weeks each summer in a large RV park in Colorado. It has 450 RV sites, a number of cabins, a few motel rooms, laundry, restaurant, grocery store/service station, gift shop, a number of activity/entertainment buildings, and activities such as miniature golf, paddle boats, horse back riding, etc. As a result, they have quite a large number of workers.
In a park like that, just about every skill is needed from general maintenance to office work. Smaller parks would obviously have less diverse needs. Electrical, mechanical, & plumbing skills would probably almost always be needed. General office work also. And of course, cleaning of various buildings, restrooms, grounds, etc.
Size and type of park would dictate the skills needed there.

We have never worked in a Rv park of any size.We do work at Disneyworld in Florida during our winter stay.It is NOT work camping as they have no such program. We are part time employees and are paid a actual wage. In my case 8.00 per hour and Helen is 9 something a hour.It pays for our winter stay and then some.

What you list are the skills most often asked for in listings on the Workamper website as well as what we have been asked to do. This winter we will be taking school groups thru and arboretum in AZ and that will be a new one for us.

sounds like you already have the skills most camgrounds are interested in. We did get CPR and Basic First Aid certifications to boost our resume's some but not sure if that has made any difference or not.
