Wisconsin campgrounds

Does anyone have a recommendation for the best campgrounds in eastern Wisconsin. Pull through, full hookup preferred. Need something for the wife to see and do, but no kids on this trip. tx

We like to go to the Bay Shore County Park just north of Green Bay on Hwy. 57 towards Sturgeon Bay. It is in Brown County but real close to the Door County line on the Bay of Green Bay side. It is very nice and clean and the sites are all paved. No pull thrus though, all back-ins.

There are 2 loops or circles for RV's, go to the second one as that is where the 30 amp hook-ups are. (We learned the hard way!) The first loop is only 20 amp hook-ups. There is water and electric to all sites but no sewer. They have a free dump station if you stay there. The rangers also drive around several times a day and deliver fire wood to your site if you want some, $5.00 a bundle.

We like it there alot and recommend it highly. Rates are $15.00 Monday - Thursday & $20.00 Friday - Sunday. There is a nice play area for the kids, beach, boat launch and showers. Door County has numerous places for the wife to go too and shop for goodies and trinkets.

We are going there again this weekend (Thur. through Sun.). If you come up there stop in and say hi and have a beer!!

PackerFan -

I'd like to know how many sites at the Campground and can you make reservations? It sounds very nice! From another Packer fan!! (excluding hubby who is a Lions fan (cough, choke)!!

They do not take reservations....first come first served! Starts to fill up usually on Thursday evening but there is usually enough sites still on Friday. We always go up there on Thursday evening.

I believe there are about 80 sites if I remember right. The first loop is 20 amps and the second loop is 30 amps for the electric.

Last time up there I noticed a huge sign at the gate that read "If you are not a Packer Fan, then move to the Far Back of the campground!"
