California Or Bust

It’s getting close for my wife and I to leave for Ca, headed out 12/8. I’ve serviced the 5th and the Ram and there ready to go. Will be gone for the next two years +, my GoldWing is being picked up for shipment and our Durango will be being shipped. We’re relocating to San Dimas and will be staying at Eastern Shore RV Park all that’s left to do is load my wife’s stuff in the 5th and a few things of mine, will be bringing 1 chocolate 90lb lab and 1 13lb cat....yeah this will be exciting lol. Our route thus far is I-20 to I-10 to I-8 and stay in Yuma for a few days and visit with my parents who winter down their. The we will head up 78 to 86 thru the salt &sea area back onto I-10, this will be Sunday the 16th so hopefully traffic will be better then a Saturday or a Monday lol.

Enjoy your new adventure.

Don’t know which Florence you are starting from. But if you are taking I-20 thru Bossier City/Shreveport area, and did not see my recent post, take the I-220 bypass around Bossier City/Shreveport or have your truck and trailer beat to death on that very, very rough stretch of highway.

We live in Florence Alabama, I did see your post about that. Thanks for that post. We take the Natches Trace to I 55 in Mississippi to hit I 20.

Brought the Monty to our local city park campground and set it up so we have power/water. We’re going to load her up this week, pack the basement with new stackable storage containers.

Diesel will be over 44 a gallon. Are you really want to come here? I live here also in Norcal and hate it. Weather is the only thing cool about this place otherwise not so much.

Bring your visa, you're going to need it.

Don’t under estimate the weather. Coming from the PNW I am in heaven right now in SoCal. It has rained a day or two but nothing compared to November in WA.

I now live in AZ but have my business is in Southern Ca. We lived in Southern Ca. for 45 years plus. My wife grew up there. It’s a beautiful place but. Lots of traffic, taxes, and homeless. My advice is enjoy the weather be very careful when on the freeways as the drivers are VERY aggressive.

So true on the Socal traffic. If coming from Las Vegas on I 15 or from the east on I 40 where they intersect on Barstow CA. it can be a mess on a Sunday.

When I bought my new 2018 3920 I brought it home, as I bought it out of state. about 1000 miles later and several states we got back into California stopped in Bakersfield for diesel, I always walk around the trailer to inspect every time we stop, and all was well. Hit traffic go figure but by the time we got home we look and someone hit us. Luckily it did not hit the slide or the end cap, just the piece of sheet metal.

Just be careful there are some ****** drivers here in SoCal
