Norcold Refrigeration
Sorry if this is a second round of this question, but went to get e-spell check and lost my place. Anyway, having a problem with our Model 1210 4 door Norcold ref. The unit works on both electrical and propane, but does no get below 51*. I changed out the thermistor last night and no improvement. Dealer did not think it was the control panel and everything appears to be working except temperature control. Thanks for the help as things seem slower in Fairbanks.

We have the four door unit. We found it necessary to add some rubber window seals on the refrig side of the doors for a better seal. Too much moisture on the inside of the unit. Additional seals solved the moisture issue, the doors not sealing properly, and temperature levels inside the unit. Did that two years ago, and seals holding up great. Shame it was necessary, and wish Keystone had stayed with Dometic vice Norcold.

Is your refrigerator mounted in a slide? The ones mounted in slide has two vents on side of camper and does not vent out through roof. They are not quite as efficient as the roof vented ones. My refrigerator has a chimney fan that cycles on every time the thermostat calls for cooling. Does yours have a fan that might not be working?

As indicated in earlier response, we had the same problem, which was resolved via better seal of the doors. Doors are supposed to close tight with magnets installed in the door seals, and we found the door seal pretty sloppy

You did not specify the age of the fridge and what rig you have it in. if the fridge is a few years old you may have a bit of gunk (hard crystal) in the cooling unit. They develop in the system then migrate to narrow spots. I had this problem several times prior to the failure of the cooling unit. These were two yrs apart so I would not worry too much about a total failure just yet. What was recommended both times by two different techs was to switch to propane and kick the temp setting all the way to 9. leave it there for several days and try to keep the door shut as much as possible until the blockage clears. You wont hear it but by the second day you should notice frost on the fins in the fridge when it does clear.. Good Luck, and if you don't presently have Good Sam extended service I would suggest getting it. It saved us over 2200 dollars on our cooling unit replacement in Feb..

How old is your rig. We had the same problem with the same model/It failed after 10 months in use. Call Norcold now. The problem was a failed refrigeration unit due to, they said, clogged coils. Norcold has a two year warranty. They replaced it.
