LED color changing belly/ground effect lighting

FYI,
I saw that Walmart now has a box of color changing LED lighting for $22.00 that looks to me like it would make good belly/ground effect lighting. It comes with mounts and a remote. I haven't bought or installed it yet but just thought I would throw it out there for the rest of you.

We rode GOLDWING touring bikes for years and they ground effects lights were the Rage. But then they would do ”Light Parades” at rallies for the tourists!

LED strips from Walmart

Just today looked at the Walmart kit. It comes with Brackets with small nails to mount them with and says not to mount it any other way.. I wanted to mount it with 3M red tape but I don't know the reasoning for not doing so. I really don't want to drive a bunch of nails in the side of my 5er.

I hope nobody buys them. They are TACKY and can ruin a nice campground at night.

Can you define “nice campground” please?
Even the factory puts them on a lot of new units,so most have bought them indirectly...

I get nothing but compliments on my LEDs and lasers in the trees! Tacky pfftttt. Din’t Be so uppity and narrow minded!

I just mentioned the Walmart versions because they are inexpensive. I’ll report further if I buy a set.

Are you saying that my colored shotgun shell lights hung on my awning make the campground tacky? Dang, who would have thunk it.

By staying in trailer parks, many folks would call all of us tacky or worse!

Considering have more invested in our rolling stock than most do in their stocks and bricks. I suspect those calling us tacky don’t have a leg to stand on. Besides we stay at RV parks not trailer parks🤪

I used the 3M red double sided tape, then a strip of clear gorilla tape over the whole length.

Tacky is a blow up movie screen and golf cart "drive in"

Golf Cart drive-ins will never catch on. Back seat is too small

Hey folks I only started this thread to suggest an inexpensive way to add belly lights to your rig. I am fully aware that Boogey lights are a superior product. They are just extremely expensive for what they are. The pricing on LED lighting and the quality of even inexpensive lights improves almost daily. There are now some very reasonably priced products that will last for years. I don't mind experimenting with lighting as that is a hobby of mine (as stated I own a mobile Disco setup and install stage lighting). I just thought I would pass along a little knowledge on the subject to help folks that might not want to spend 300+ for belly lighting.

Don't use the original brackets and nails. They are just covering their liabilities by saying you have to use their brackets (they are worried you might crush the strip and short it out with some sort of nail or something. There is no reason not to do it with little plastic square wire holders (IE about an inch square with double sided sticky on one side and other side setup for zip ties. Add a drop of Gorilla 2 second glue to the back to give it a little extra stick on your corplast. Works great, goes up in less than 10 minutes and doesn't cost a fortune. I have a grand total of maybe $40 bucks if you count the glue and mounts. That's a LOT less than other options (particularly those that require professional installation)!!!

FYI those same little wire organizers work great for a lot of wiring projects......
