Frame Flex

I am happy to announce to you all that our frame flex has been repaired today. We are in Pendleton, Or. at the Keystone factory and they preformed exactly as they promised. They bolted and welded angle iron to the frame in both of the LP compartments. They also repaired the broken welds in the overhang. They put a expansion joint in the fibreglass where it cracked above the bedroom slide.

In addition to the flex frame repairs they took care of two sticking windows and painted the steps and hitch.

I can't say enough about how well they treated us while we were there. We even got a private tour of the Cougar manufacturing facility. Very impressive the way the assembly line works.

Now the repair test is ahead of us. We will be leaving in the morning for Idaho, then back to California,s bad concrete highways.

That's great to hear, Doug! And if they do as they do in Goshen I'd bet they also checked out your entire propane system and did an electrical skin test. They told me they do those things on every rig that comes in so I'd bet they do that in Oregon, too. Have a nice trip. Idaho is a beautiful state.

See another Montana or Mountaineer on the road? Flash lights twice, it might be one of us!

Great! I sure hope we have the same luck as you did. Ours goes in to Keystone in Nov. We had it fixed at the dealer but it still flexes and they really didn't do a nice job on it.

I'm curious, Doug, did you make the trip up 97 or go up 5 and over via 84.

I'm glad that is over for you two. Nothing worse than having your baby in the hospital. I think it is great that they would fix this in Oregon instead of having to go all the way to Indiana. Course if you did have to go to Indiana, you would be at the rally wouldn't you.

Well I really gave it the test when we got back into California today. The concrete highway out of Truckee will knock your fillings out of your teeth, but the "Big Guy" hung in there. We got home today around 1:30pm and when I unhooked and checked it out it was perfect. Even the bedroom slide was square in its frame.

MaMalody I took I5 up to I84.

Searchers thanks for your thoughts about the Big Guys surgery, every thing is still there and well.

Helen, I wish I could have been there for the repairs and the rally but I could not have been home for our daughters sonagram on Tuesday. YES!! We are going to be grandparents again. Our daughters first an Grandma will not miss out on a thing even if I tell her how important it is to be at a Montana Owners Club rally.

Thanks to all of you for the good wishes. I will try to post a picture of the repair if I can take one that will turn out well enough to see.

Glad you had a safe, successful trip. Great news on the granchildren. We have nine or eleven, depends on how you want to count. Regardless of how you count, they are a real blessing!

Doug and Sharon,
I'm happy to hear that you got it fixed. Sounds like they treated you well. That is good to know.

And congratulations on the additional grand child! How exciting. We are certainly enjoying having our daughter and family back close to home. We get to see our one and only grand daughter almost every day. Much nicer than every month or two!

Take care and see you soon.

What percentage of Montana's have the frame flex problem? I have a 2004 3670RL and I am starting to get worried. I live in the Monty and it would be real inconvenient to have to get the fram repaired. I only move my Montana about twice a year, so hopefully the frame will hold up.
