Have you been on this road??
70 from Alamogordo over the mountains west. How is the road, seems good on the maps, anything I need to know? We will be taking it soon.
Thanks!

A bunch. Usually on my motorcycle, however, would take my rig and not look back but don't see forward too good either.:-) Has been a good road each time I have traveled it.

As a Canadian never having been there(yet) does one encounter steep climbs and descents over the mountains as you say?
What other route would one take to avoid such elevation?
Where have you been staying in Alamogordo Ozz?

Great road and not much traffic. A bit of a long climb over the mountain just before Las Cruces, but you shouldn't have any trouble.

We went that route a couple years ago when we left MO in December. We stayed over night in Clovis, and then went through Roswell to Las Cruces the next day. The road was very well maintained and was a good ride.

Great Info and feedback, thanks. The climb couldn't be worse than the one we had on the south approach to Estes Park I would hope. That road had no place to pull over in case.. but we had no problem, the truck kept asking: "Are we there yet?"
Haven't picked a spot there, but in Roswell, we are staying at Town and Country RV Park.. any feedback on that item? Lookin' for UFO's

No info on that park, when we're in the area we usually stay at the SKP park in Lakewood. While your in Roswell, however make time to go to the real museum (not the alien museum) that's across from their visitor center. Best collection of Cowboy, Indian and Conquistador stuff you'll see anywhere. They also have Godard's rocket lab and a full fine art museum all in the same building.

Personally I liked the alien museum!
It kind of made a believer out of me. Way too many sworn affidavits on death beds to be completely unfounded.

Not saying don't do the Alien Museum, just that most people miss this gem of a museum you wouldn't expect to be found there.

Hi Nuna!
Headed for fun! Pretty loose schedule this trip, want to stop at the Escapees park and see Mikey and Diane at Benson? I think. Then on to Tucson, Apache Junction, and p on to Tonopah Az at Saddle Mountain RV park to maintain about 200 of my Geocaches.
Going to try and come to Quartsite, maybe Parker then Lake Havasu then ????
Loose...
How are you and where are you? Still at the RV Park running things?

If you are an Elk, they have a nice RV area with hook ups.
