Awning Replacement 15"

Our awning is original and up at the top the pinholes are getting bigger, it's 7+ years old.
so replacement needed. we will install it ourselves if possible. I got a quote for $345 for material only. Sound about right?

Mine is 16' and is coming apart also. (2008 original awning). Looking online at (I think) AdventureRV.net I found a replacement awning fabric for $199.00 plus about $13 or $14 shipping. There is a thread on MOC that explains how to change it yourself, but I don't think the search function is working yet. I suggest YouTube for videos on how to do it. I have done it once before on my TT. It doesn't take but maybe an hour, but you need at least one other person. Preferably two. I suggest you be very, very careful because the awning is spring loaded and if done improperly, can cause serious injury and damage.

$300 area sounds about right. Bought mine through camping world two years ago and did it myself. Your call is sent to the manufacturer, and you give them the awning model number, measurement between arms and select your fabric type and color.

I'm not sure how much extra fabric there is on your awning , but I pulled off my father-in-laws awning and had the top 6-7 inches cut off and reseamed.
Cost was reasonable anthe rest of the cover was in good shape.

CW quoted me about $300 to replace my 8 year old awning in December 2013. But, I figured the south Texas sun would do a number on a new one also. So I opted for a new automatic awning with a METAL cover--forget the sun damage and boy is it easy to use!

I was cut out and smine and the top end is getting brittle. Think I'm going to have a piece cut out and replaced. Fortunately have family in the business.

Check tough top awnings we used them for our slide covers and they are really well made. I think they just started making awning covers also. www.toughtopawnings.com

I got new awning fabric earlier this year from these people www.dyersonline.com. The cost was $199.00 if I remember correctly, and the shipping was free? It came straight from Dometic to me rolled up in a tube about 8 feet long so there were no creases in the fabric. Shipping was fast too, about 2 days. My wife and I removed the awning frame and changed the fabric ourselves, then I had a friend come over and help us put the assembly back on the trailer. Took about 2 hours total, and part of that time was spent drinking cold beer. I do suggest watching the youtube video before starting, if you are doing it yourself.

I just thought of something else. You could call Oz, he and Sue have changed theirs by themselves, and he may even be able to sell you the fabric through his RV Parts business.

Lonnie - I need replace mine also (16' Dometic 9100 power awning). I have tried for days to find any instructions online. Have found several youtubes (none very good)on manual awnings but, amazingly enough, none on the power awnings

Dave, I didn't find anything on the power awning fabric replacement either, I guess nobody has felt the need to post one yet. You're right about the other videos not being very good, but there is a two part one that does a fairly good job of explaining the process.

Call up Shade-Pro they will come to your home or campground and install a new top at very good prices and they guarantee there work almost forever. I have had them readjust the tension on my awining 4 time at no cost to me and last year they replaced the wrap for free du to a defect.

Do you know the manufacturer of the awning system? I'm rebuilding a 2009 3400RL and I want to get the right replacement awning fabric for it.

My 2013 awning had a small (1x3 inch) tag sewn or glued to the awning on the underneath side right up by the wall on the end of the awning. Hard to view it so I took my camera ans zoomed in then expanded more to get the numbers. I think model, serial number and some other number. The trailer wall is on the right.

My 2005 is a Dometic. When you open the awning all the way out, my awning roller had a label on it. I went online and ordered one. I can't remember where or how much.
