TST 507 Max Pressure Settings

Got a question in regards to expected max psi when traveling.

Yesterday coming back from Banff we had three out of tires get warnings for hitting the 15% increase.

We are running Goodyear G114 tires and I set them at 125psi.

Outside temp. Was 82f and all tires never ran more than +10 of ambient.

Using the recommended upper threshold of 15% I got warnings at 145psi (rounded up).

So is that bad or should I be seeing a pressure increase like that? We had been on the road at highway speeds for 5 hours.

So I am not sure if I should increase the upper limit or be concerned about the pressure increase.

Thanks in advance for you help.

I just looked at my 507 manual and it said, assuming I'm reading correctly, to set the upper limit at 20% above what you run at.

What was your original "cold" tire pressure setting. According to Tire Rack the increase "rule of thumb" is 1 psi for every 10 degrees of temperature increase. On my 507 TST system sitting in my yard from morning temp of around 65 degrees to afternoon temperatures around 85 degrees I am seeing about 4 degrees increase, or about 2 lbs per 10 degree of temp increase. Bear in mind the sensors can be out as much as 2 - 3 degrees. I am using the booster transmitter as well with my system.

I would contact TST and give them your cold setting and the other info you have posted and ask them the question, they are great friendly people to work with. I do not see how you can be getting that kind of pressure increase, something is amiss.

Just noticed your tire pressure was 125 psi assuming that was set when the tires were cold then it still seems like a sizable increase to me based on the ambient temperatures.

Might want to check with Goodyear on the pressures you are seeing to see if that is normal and ok for the tires.

Thanks. It was cold in Banff (37f) when we left and at an elevation of about 5500'.

So there was a big temperature difference.

We are currently in West Glacier where it will get to 88f today. I will turn on the monitor later today and see what we get.

I will also contact TST and Goodyear.

Just got back from seeing some of the park in West Glacier.

Turned on the monitor and all four tires are over pressure. From four to eight pounds and we have been parked for 24 hours.

I am guessing the altitude and temp. at Banff were the culprit as we came back to the states.

Going to set them back to 125 and check in a few days. For sure before we leave.

Altitude will make a difference. Temps aren't the only thing at work.

Same issue here. I run 75-80psi in my LT tires. 20% is 96psi. I run 100psi as my top limit and that has stopped my high limit alarm.

I have my low limit set @70psi

My loaded axle weight is 10,400lbs.

Reset pressure to 115 last night. Just turned on the monitor and all is good. Holding steady.

Reset upper and lower limits based on 115 psi. Found a manual online that did say 20% over and what pressure you run.
