Water heater gas valve solenoid
I checked all my HVAC outlets, even had a parts warehouse call White Rodgers, no more solenoids to be had. I guess the Quartsite guy sold out as well. Saw a very old listing on Ebay, but no more to be had.
As a service tech, I have to say it is not a good idea to do ANYTHING to any gas valve, replacing the solenoid that has failed seems harmless, but don't do it. Even if I had found one, I would not resell it. We used to rebuild them, but no more, not for a long time.
Go with a new gas valve if any part of it fails, you and your loved ones are too valuable to take the chance. The new valve will have new rubber diaphragm, solid springs, good wiring inside it and it will be safe.
Stay safe out there.
