Ford Recall Notice

Ford Motor Co. recalled about 155,000 pickup trucks and sport utility vehicles on Monday to repair a cruise control switch system that already had led to millions of recalls.

Ford said the latest recall involved 2003 versions of the F-150, F-250, F-350, F-450 and F-550 Super Duty truck, the Ford Excursion SUV and the Lincoln Blackwood pickup.

Check your mail - just received mine today. Possible fire hazard.

Rick,

Good info Rick. Had our 1998 fixed for that recall last year. The problem was the CC switch near the master cylinder. If brake fluid leaked inside the switch it could cause a fire, even when shut off. Ford just replaced the switch with a new style.

A guy in Oklahoma City ignored the recall notice last September. On Friday of last week the defect burned down his house. He even did an interview and said he didn't think it was a big deal so he didn't have it fixed. I just don't understand some people some times.lol
Rick thanks for giving everyone the heads up.

I think the recall goes back a lot farther now. I checked with Ford and they couldn't tell me. I'm told my 1997 F350 is included but the local dealer couldn't say. ???
