Gel coat

Here is my situation. My covered storage spot is 40'. My trailer is 38'. Due to the ladder on the rear and the existing perlins in my storage area i'm about 1' to long. My cap is starting to get a little CHALKY looking. The rest of the rig looks great. Is there some brand of jell coat treatement out there? It seams like the WASH AND WAX combo is not working to well.

Thanks,
Dennis.

Check in a Marine store. There are a variety of products.

This is one thing that really gets me with 5th wheels. We had a 2004 hitchhiker that I waxed the cap once a week and it got chalky. I am really worried about our monty that has paint on the cap. I am hoping someone has an idea on how to protect the cap.

Aren't the front and rear caps made of plastic?

Nope, gel coated fiberglass, and some have paint on top of that.

No magic. Some are affected more than others. All get there eventually. If prevost made the caps they wouldn't suffer, but then they would cost about half of the montana. John
