We have 2 types of bark collars, a shock one works for Brutus and a spray style works for Max. We tried the spray style on Brutus, but it didn't bother him. The 1st couple of times, he just had a surprised look, then he kept on barking, so we bought a shock style bark collar and that has worked well.

As other members have said, once they know what the collar does, they don't try to test it often.
